Stayed Jul 26, 2025Great house and location! Close (drive) to beach, shopping and restaurants. Spacious and comfortable! Make sure to bring any spices or staples that you may need for cooking. Nothing is stocked in the kitchen. That is something that has never been an issue with other rentals that we have booked but Meijer and Aldi are literally 4 minutes away so it was easily rectified

Stayed Jun 10, 2025Plenty of space, quiet area. Conveniently located but not much of a lake view. The gas grill had not been cleaned for some time. Overall, amenities were good and the house met our expectations and needs.

Stayed Aug 3, 2024Confusion between VRBO and Vacasa Wanted double payments Scary VRBO had automatic payment final payment date and even after that Vacasa wanted payment and said they would cancel our reservation even tho it was completely payed this involved more phone calls from us to make sure. Very poor Same thing happened with deposit also differing totals (why)from each VRBO and Vacasa requested at start also requiring long phone calls Property was great here are mostly just notes /suggestions to help owner Grill at property was filthy and had huge flare and flavor bars not correct size send someone to check on it. But we made it work Need second refrig in garage for 5 bedroom house You need a large recycle bin Need more silverware and need teaspoons to begin with Mirrors needed in bedrooms that don’t have any Twin room needs 3 way bulb for 3way lamp for more light Hanging rods needed in all bedrooms that are without Basement master needs a closet or in small area a tension rod for hanging Hanging rack there was broken when we arrived While cushions on deck look great but since it’s a rental they stay out and with rain were mostly soaked thru and unusable during our visit Oh wall air vents dirty One above main TV was filth and you can’t help look at it John heidkamp

Stayed Jun 22, 2024The house was very spacious and well appointed. There is a five minute drive into town with several private beaches along the way. There is some home construction going on in the neighborhood. Overall enjoyable.

Stayed Dec 23, 2023We stay at VRBO rentals around the country for Christmas every year! This rental was very nice, it was spacious, beds were super comfortable and they provided a good supply of items in the kitchen which we really enjoyed because we made Christmas dinner without any hassle. My only issue was it was new construction and the roads were not paved my car and shoes were filthy! Besides that we really enjoyed our stay! Thank you very much ?

Stayed Jul 29, 2023We loved our stay!!! House was exactly as pictured, very clean, comfortable furniture (including all beds), toys/games for kids, 5 minutes from everything! Super friendly neighbor who brought over a basket of toys for the kids to borrow! Cannot say enough good things-even the cleaning staff was friendly to us when we showed up 15 mins early. The outdoor decks were our favorite part-also they had a fire pit with a package of wood ready to go for us!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969So the house is very much as described and how it looks in the photos, with the caveat that there's now construction on one side and more about to start around it. So it will be loud most days, making it difficult to enjoy the very nice decks. There is also a dog on the other side of the treeline -- a hound -- who absolutely will not stop howling. The owners constantly yell at him to quiet down instead of bringing him in, and the few evenings we were there that were nice enough to have dinner outside, it was difficult to enjoy it as it sounded like there was a sea lion next door. It really is *that* loud. Which isn't the fault of the house, obviously, but it's something you should be aware of. There IS a lake view, but it's hard to see in the photos, and it's very limited because the lake is probably 3/4 mile away and there are a lot of powerlines that interfere with the view. The house is still very new, which is nice, and has comfortable beds and plenty of bedding and towels. It's also clean. However, it's not finished. I'm not sure how they are getting away with renting a house that isn't really complete yet. For instance, the dishwasher is hanging out of the wall and has never been fully installed. The second day we were there, we ran it, and water came gushing out of it as it tips forward. We called Vacasa at the local number provided, and never heard anything back. This isn't surprising, as when I had questions about this listing when we first thought we may rent it, it took a literal month to hear back. When I emailed them again, they never responded at all. They did say we should call, but as this isn't 1995, they should have enough people to answer basic inquiries via email. Besides, they clearly don't answer calls or respond to voicemails, either, so I don't know that it matters. All of the bedrooms are very bright, which is nice during the day, but because they have blinds and no curtains (but each window has curtain rod holders installed -- again, the house isn't completely finished), it means you'll be woken up at 5 a.m. with the sun during the summer in the master bedroom. There are some other odd things as well that have to do with the design of the house, like having 4 bedrooms on the top floor, one that's clearly supposed to be a 2nd master, but has to share a bath with two kids' bedrooms. That master is also the room with the big walk-out deck and the view of the lake. But if you use it, you won't have a bath. The actual master is nice, too, but no view, and no curtains. As far as dining goes, the house is supposed to have space for up to 10, but there are only 6 dining chairs at a table that would hold 8 easily, and two barstools, so if you have a full house, there's nowhere for everyone to eat together. Additionally, this is a big house -- it has to be 3000 sq ft at least -- and there is only one thermostat, which is on the main floor. So at night, it's hot upstairs even on cool days, and the ground floor and main floor are freezing when it's cool outside just to keep the top floor tolerable. Yes, you can open windows, but that only works when it's not raining, and we had a lot of rain when we were there. In the summer, on hot days, I imagine the upstairs would get extremely warm and be very difficult to cool. I would also recommend that you bring your own frying pans. The ones in the house are clearly not new. They are traditional non-stick for the most part, and scratched up, making them difficult to use.

Stayed Aug 6, 2022We really enjoyed the beautiful home. The beds were very comfortable, and we are picky. There is a room with twin beds that is great for toddlers and young children. It has toys, books and stuffed animals. It seems a family left behind some dirty clothes in the closet, but otherwise the house was immaculate. In the master bathroom the shower could use a shower caddy or someplace to put shampoos and body wash. Also a small bench for shaving. There are two rooms perfect for adult couples or singles.. one has a beautiful porch attached, the other has a master bath inside the suite. Every day we had a lovely view of a family of deer feeding right outside the windows. This home is a drive from beaches and from town, but only a short drive. We will definitely be back to this home.

Stayed Jul 2, 2022The property is great. The house is very comfortable, with plenty of room for all 9 of us. It’s also beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you will need. The neighbor was so friendly and helpful. It’s not right on the beach, but only a 5 minute drive into town. We loved our stay. South Haven is now my favorite Michigan destination.
