Three-bedroom house with views, decks, golf cart and home gym!

The property was very clean and was very pet friendly. The an available golf cart was very convenient and not offered at all rentals. Very close to the beach access points and the grocery store. The host was very accommodating and friendly. This was our second time renting this property and we are hoping to rent again next year.

We had a wonderful stay at Derek’s place! There isn’t anything you could possibly need that isn’t in this home awaiting you. It was going to be colder weather, than we had originally anticipated, so Derek went out of his way to ensure the gas fireplace and heat was working perfectly for us upon our arrival. He truly went above and beyond, with all his recommendations and special touches, to ensure we had the perfect stay! Thank you for everything Derek!

Derek's home was fantastic to stay at once again! This time around we had a group of friends with us and the house was perfect for five adults, a baby, and two dogs. Derek is also a great VRBO host who is prompt to respond to messages, and is just a really kind dude who we were lucky to meet while we were on the island this time around. I already have recommended his VRBO to others and will certainly continue to do so!

Derek was very communicative giving great detail up front to ensure we came in prepared properly (for the ferry situation, coffee, etc…). He was incredibly responsive to questions and gave us some great recommendations. Everything was walkable and the golf cart was a HUGE plus! I would highly recommend Marshmellow to anyone looking for some time on Ocracoke Island!!

The Marshmellow had everything we needed to enjoy our time on the island.The kitchen had everything we needed to cook with.Dog friendly and included a golf cart.All the beds were very comfortable.The house was very clean top to bottom.Our host Derek was quick to answer any questions we had.I would definitely stay here again.

We can't say enough great things about our stay here! The house was beautiful, super comfortable, and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-appointed, and we loved having the outdoor shower, bikes, and golf cart available to use. The location was perfect—close to shops and restaurants. We loved the screened-in porches, and there were so many nice, thoughtful touches throughout the house that made our stay extra enjoyable.Our host was fantastic, answering any questions we had right away and making sure everything went smoothly. We would absolutely stay here again!

If you're thinking of booking this house, do it! Absolutely perfect and great property! It looked exactly like the pictures. The host was communicative and helpful in relaying instructions and replying to questions. The location is absolutely ideal - being just a little ways off the main road so it's nice and quiet. The views off the front are awesome - you can see across the marsh to the main highway and the back of the dunes in the distance. At night there is almost no light pollution so the stargazing is exceptional. I cannot wait to stay here again.

This house was in a perfect spot ! The kitchen was very well stocked . We loved sitting on the screen back porch in the evening watching the birds.there is nothing this house didn’t have even with the weather not so great for our visit we definitely enjoyed our stay. Marshmellow is the perfect name for this house. It is located on a street in a quiet neighborhood. It’s a little further out, but the beauty of Ocracoke is that even the further out houses are only a mile or two from town. The house was clean and perfect for a family of four!

As soon as we entered the house, we felt totally at home. It was super clean, and exceptionally furnished with more than you could imagine. Saying we were more than impressed would be a serious understatement. If you’re considering booking, my best advice is do it before someone else does. I promise you will not be disappointed. The house was great, but the icing on the cake was being able to meet Derek and Virginia (the hosts). Better hosts you will never find.

The MarshMellow may be the perfect place to stay in Ocracoke. The location is great. Not far from the busy village waterfront but in a much quieter neighborhood. The house comes with a golf cart which is almost a necessity. Based on the rental prices on the island, out saves you about 125 per day to use the one that comes with the house. The house is stocked for your every need. Derek has thought of everything. The kitchen is truly a chef's kitchen. We had a great time cooking there. The grill is fantastic. There is one bathroom for each bedroom. The house was great for four people but would also be great for 6. The outdoor shower was perfect after a day at the beach. If we had been there longer we would have used the bikes. We did make use of the beach chairs at the beach. Derek also made sure to please ask types of coffee drinkers. While we love the Ocracoke coffee places, we only went out for coffee once because we had plenty of coffee options at the MarshMellow. He even had multiple toasters which was great to accommodate one of our companions who is gluten free. We could all eat toast at the same time and keep one toaster gluten free. We love The MarshMellow and Derek is just an exceptional host. We hope to be back again.

GReat house!! A couple of us have health issues and the steps created a problem. The kitchen was well equipped. Labels on the doors might have been helpful.

Amazing stay and everything we needed to create great a vacation and memories

This is our second time back to this gem of a house! Loved every minute here and the golf cart is such a great added bonus! Can’t wait to be back in the fall!

The owner of the house, Derek, was very helpful in answering all our questions about the area. He was happy to provide transportation from W95 airport to the house for our arrival and departure. At the house, you have access to a 4 person golf cart and bikes to help you get around the village part of the island. We used both and it was great! The house is exactly as the pictures show and what is written. Comfortable beds and fantastic screened in porches to relax with a bench swing. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need during your stay, including a grill on the front porch and grill tools. This neighborhood is so peaceful and quiet. A great place to have a family vacation for our first visit to Ocracoke. We will definitely be back and hope to stay here again!

Wonderful home on our favorite island! Everything, including comfy bedding, top notch kitchen, solitude, marsh views, beach gear, fish cleaning area, bikes, and of course the golf cart made our family’s Ocracoke vacation the best it could be. The host was extremely responsive and helpful. We even had a chance to get our puppies together for visit! Will definitely stay here again!

Location was great. Loved that this rental was all inclusive, everything from linens, beach towels and chairs, bikes, and golf cart. The property manager was very responsive and accommodating. We were able to bring our two dogs which was another big plus. The only suggestion that we have is that the cushions in the sofa and chair in the living room area need firmer filling but that is not a big issue considering all that this house has to offer. Everything else was perfect and we have reservations for next summer.

Marshmallow had everything we needed! It was beautifully decorated and had spaces to tuck away and relax. We had friends in town and gathered every morning and night to eat together. The gym was amazing, helped me stay on track during my vacation. The bikes and golf cart were so appreciated and used everyday. Loved this home and would stay again!

My best friend and I spent a week at Marshmellow, we enjoyed every aspect of our trip, especially the house which had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable week away. I even got to bring my dog! We enjoyed a quiet week away, spent every day on the beach, enjoyed great restaurants all based out of this great VRBO! A few of our favorite aspects of the home, the included golf cart, the screened in porches, the porch swing, the hammock, to name just a few. Maybe we can come back for another birthday soon!

Siblings reunited at our favorite vacation spot in US. Back in the 60’s and 70’s we camped. This week in 2025 when we met at we stayed in luxury compared to the camping days. There was plenty of room to spread out and all of our necessities were met! Kitchen appliances were all wonderful and we loved having a golf cart to get around town. No complaints except an elevator would have been great for us old folks, although that’s asking a bit much. We highly recommend Marshmellow and the very personable owner Derek!

This place is excellent; it lives up to the online pictures. Great neighborhood. The decks and screened in porch are great too. The golf cart is a great extra that saves you money. On my next trip to Ocracoke, I will try to stay here again.

Absolutely perfect Ocracoke getaway! Views are fantastic from the living area and all of the porches. Everything you need is right there. The house was as, if not better, than the listing. The house was immaculate yet very homey. All of the appliances and amenities were up to date and worked well. Everything I needed was stocked. The view from the decks were very nice. The availability of a golf cart was also a huge plus. The host was very nice and easy to contact. I must admit I messed up my move in date and called him to admit my error. He was so helpful and allowed me to check in a little early after the house had been cleaned. I will definitely book book this Marshmallow again next year!

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this house during our trip to Ocracoke. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and it was convenient to everything in the village. The screened in decks and porches allowed us to have dinner outside and enjoy the nice weather and the views of the island. I would highly recommend it and I look forward to staying there again when we return to Ocracoke.

Derek has a wonderful home on Ocracoke with many amenities. We were happy to be able to bring our dogs along with us, and the neighborhood was great for some peace and quiet as well as running. We loved sitting out in the screened in porch as well as soaking in the sun on the front deck. Having access to a golf cart was also a pleasant surprise that we enjoyed when we didn't want to necessarily take our car to a spot in town. All around we thoroughly enjoyed getting to stay here, Derek was responsive with messages, and we look forward to booking again!

The house fit our needs perfectly! (My husband, two 11 year old girls and my parents) The house was clean and nicely decorated. Tons of decks to enjoy the outside! Having a golf cart is an added bonus and the girls loved taking rides throughout the weekend. Kitchen was stocked with everything you could need! We are looking forward to coming back here again, and would definitely recommend staying here to others.

Quick trip with all the needed amenities!

Unless you have your own plane when you visit ocracoke you want to stay for a while! (It’s my nice way of saying it’s hard to get to) so we were able to spend 5 nights and spread out in this terrific house. The kitchen was spotless and so well equipped (I’d never in a million years use all the kitchen stuff) porches were picturesque. We went everywhere on the golf cart! So great. My husband was actually comfortable in the bed!! Phew!

The house was exactly as described, with wrap-around decks, lots of windows, and lovely little accents. The golf cart was a definite plus! Derek was an amazing host, was quick to respond when we had a question, and he made us feel absolutely welcome. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved this place - not smack in the center of town and most everything was a 3-5 minute drive away. The golf cart took us everywhere we wanted to go. The decks were great, and multiple screened in - we enjoyed the one off the kitchen especially for both morning coffee (with the local birds) and afternoon cocktails. Really nice kitchen appliances! Very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We will come back here soon I hope.

Beautiful home. We unfortunately were there when the tropical storm hit. The screened in porch was perfect for watching the rain. Loved being in the tree tops watching all types of birds. We had one afternoon to go to SmacNallys. Ran into our old friends Ferris and Chrissy. Great to see them and catch up on Island news. Hope to stay again. Andrea

This property was great! It was a great location for us and was very clean upon arrival. Nicely equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen as well as sheets and towels. The use of the golf cart was awesome!! Communication with the boat was easy and he responded quickly. The information book provided by the host was also helpful. Great place that we would definitely rent again!

Well equipped, comfortable and well maintained

We stayed in this house a few years ago. It has really been upgraded. Everything is top notch.

Our group enjoyed a 3 day getaway at the Marshmellow and it was absolutely perfect! The entire experience from start to finish was all we wanted and more! Derek’s communication was top notch and the amenities of the property were spot on! The golf cart was the icing! We will be back!

Everything about this property exceeded our expectations! The bikes, the golf cart, air compressor for filling tires back up after beach, extra toiletries, fully stocked kitchen, all the outdoor spaces to sit, relax, eat, read, sleep…. This place felt like home from day 1. And the host, Derek! He was super responsive and available for everything we needed. Was met by his girlfriend, Virginia with a super warm welcome when we checked in, also! Plenty of space for our family of four to not feel right on top of each other. The neighborhood is perfect to feel comfortable letting kids roam a little. Already booked for next summer! Thank you Derek!
