Exterior light didn't work on top of stairs. Outlet hanging out of wall in hall
Property could be very nice if the owners put some time and effort to repair a hole in living room wall, towel bar ripped off in bathroom, no lighting in living room, carpet dirty, and kids could not use bunk beds because they are too shaky. Also a drawer in bunk room had nails laying in the bottom. Couldnt turn on air, so you can open windows but no screens. Outside light does not work so bring a flashlight for the 20 steep stairs up to the door. No cover on refrigerator light bulb, our 4 year old burned his finger on it.
Anxious upon entering. Dirty area rug, hole in the living room wall, broken plastic blinds (no curtains), no lighting in back bedroom (no lamp/ceiling light didn’t work), festival wristband on floor of bedroom (vacuumed?), mismatched dirty towels, loose screws in drawer of nightstand of bunk/kid’s room, bucket of cigarette butts outside the door, nails at the bottom of steep steps leading up, and police presence across the street at 9:45 that woke the grandkids (ages 1 and 3) and scared them. Owner has been notified to correct things. Should’ve been addressed before this. May be acceptable for college-aged kids, but not for families looking for a clean place to stay for a family event. Beds were comfy and kitchen was nice.
The apartment needs work and needs attention paid to the details. Lots of opportunities to improve on the overall amenities and cleanliness. Damp towels were found in the dryer that apparently had been there a bit based on the odor. Hard mattresses are difficult to sleep on. During our stay the weather turned rainy and cold, which is not anyone's fault. However the stairs leading to the apartment froze up. There are no traction strips on the steps, which caused a dangerous situation. Property management should have had someone checking this unit since the stairs are newer and this is obviously the first winter on them. Traction strips, salt, or some other action would have helped. This is a hard property to like.
Start with the bad and end with the good! The cleanliness of the place is a bit left to be desired. The bathroom grout wasn’t in good condition and the baseboards in the kitchen were gross! The windows needed some work seemed to be rotted out and no screens to be able to enjoy the night cool crisp air for sleeping. The neighborhood was in a good location to historic Ashland Estate and wonderful walks during the day and evening hours. The place a was to stay in and was cheaper than a hotel.
Our only complaint about our stay were the bunk beds, they’re definitely not made for adults. Two of our guests did sleep on the couch due to the bunk beds, they’re extremely wobbly and I wouldn’t trust them. Other than that the location was great and the duplex was nice.
Check in was easy. The apartment is big enough for a family. It is not handicap accessible. There is alot of stairs going up. We didn't find the extra blankets through. The parking is alittle cramped with the downstairs people. We did have a issue with the washer being off balance and making alot of noise when we tried to use it. I had two younger kids with me and when we walked in the apartment it smells like weed. The smell came and went so im guessing it was coming from the downstairs guest. Wasnt a good thing for younger kids to have to smell. But as far as the listing it was up to date. We wasn't there much but to sleep.
This is a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Unfortunately I could not back my trailer in the driveway because it would scrape the ground so I parked it in the street, I was nervous to do it at first but after the first night realized it was a quiet and safe neighborhood. The house was clean and we had everything we needed. For the price, we couldn't beat it. The property manager was very communicative and friendly. I would recommend this rental for sure!
It is just a wonderful property to stay at. Very close to bars and eateries, owner was very good at communication and helped with requests. Overall definitely a 5 star.
We were in town for Breyerfest. A very chaotic weekend of real and model horses. It was so nice to have a place to come back to to rest and make a meal together. Will stay again next year.
Nice location parking was easy. The beds were comfortable and the place looks like it was remodeled in the past couple of years. Decor was nice and there were nice linens on the beds and plenty of towels
Would stay here again!
