From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. The decor was stylish and modern, with plenty of natural light and comfortable furnishings. The yellow door was a cheerful touch that added to the home's overall charm. The house was equipped with everything I needed for my stay, from a fully stocked kitchen to fast Wi-Fi and a comfortable work area. I appreciated the little touches like extra blankets and pillows, and the thoughtful instructions and recommendations provided by the host. The location was also perfect for my needs, with easy access to the highway and a short drive to my work meetings. In my free time, I enjoyed exploring the nearby restaurants and shops. Overall, I highly recommend this cute home with a yellow door for anyone traveling to Phoenix for business or leisure. The host was responsive and accommodating, and the house itself was a comfortable and charming retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed in The Yellow Door property for over 30 days, and it was a nice visit. We rate it 4.5 stars. The positives: The home and neighborhood is extremely quiet, and the backyard is very large. The home has been recently updated and newly furnished in modern Scandinavian style, offering “newness” that can be hard to find in a rental. The bedrooms are spacious, and the closets are very large. The living spaces have plenty of windows for natural light. The owner, Adroushan, was very quick to reply to messages. The location is great on a lovely cal-de-sac street and within a short drive to restaurants and shopping (Walking to a restaurant would be a stretch for most people). Our favorite part was the 15–20-minute drive to Camelback and the Phoenix Mountain Preserve for hiking. There were a few challenges we faced. Most of our issues came from the kitchen. We were at the property for a month, and we enjoy cooking and baking. The kitchen was not fully equipped for our needs. We bought our own chef’s knife and made do without the measuring sets (request for these items seemed to be interpreted as a nice suggestion). The microwave ventilation fan and the light over the stove did not work. Generally, the appliances were dated and in the later part of their life cycle, which is fine for a rental but surprising for a recently updated home. The handyman came mid-month to measure for a replacement microwave, but it was not remedied during our visit. Adroushan did comp us with a mid-month cleaning for our trouble, which was nice. The backyard was large and spacious, but there was almost no landscaping, and it generally felt neglected. The backyard furniture is nice, but it is designed for a drink/snack since the table is too low for a meal. The ability to play bags, badminton, or throw a ball around in a private backyard, though, outweigh the negatives. The TV is internet-only, so bring your passwords to all streaming services. A basic cable package would be nice for local news. Our check-in was tricky because we arrived at night and the keypad at the front door is not lit. Tip no one told us: press the icon in the lower left corner…it lights up the keypad! We've stayed for a month in three different VRBO properties, and this is the first time that we did not meet the owner during our stay. There was a sense the owner is not around much. We probably prefer a more hands on approach, but overall, our stay in Phoenix was great.
House was older (so is mine by the way) but updated and SUPER clean and neat. Kitchen has all you need. Big back yard with a big covered porch. Large bedrooms. No pool, so safe with little kids. On a Cul-de-Sac so not much traffic. Owner was really easy to reach out to, and very accommodating. Overall a very good experience. Would be glad to get this house again.
The location is great, very close to shops and restaurants, easy access from the airport. The neighborhood is quiet and attractive. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. Note for the less technically savvy, they only have streaming TV (Netflix, Apple+, etc). It was fine for me, but a challenge for my elderly aunt Also, TV only in the living room, not n the bedrooms. Great communication, and an excellent stay. I will stay here again.
The property is exactly as advertised and you cannot beat the location. I have lived in Phoenix for over 20 years, recently relocated to the east coast, and brought my friends here to gather for a long weekend. I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again. The check in and check out instructions were straightforward and the cleaning requests were reasonable. Adroushan is a very responsive host.
