Stayed Apr 17, 2025Beautiful house. Amazing beach access.First floor ocean views are blocked by dunes. Communication with property management was nonexistant. Grill ran out of propane. No response via phone or text for 24 hours.

Stayed Aug 2, 2025This was such a great place to stay. We were perfectly placed in the heart of Nags Head. The rooms were perfect with comfortable beds. The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked at home several nights. There are two grills, one charcoal, one gas. We are definitely booking again. (Also a brief walk to Tortugas and Lucky 12) also just down from the Nags Head Pier that has a great breakfast.

Stayed Jun 19, 2025Location was great! The layout was funky. One bedroom was accessible only from the deck and was super small. The upstairs had only one bathroom for 3 bedrooms and it was a Jack and Jill off the master. And it was tiny.

Stayed May 11, 2025The Way We Were was cozy and comfortable in an unbeatable location! The dune deck was ideal for morning sunrise coffee and dolphin viewing. Beachfront was perfect for beach walks and swimming. Even in rain or bright sun, we enjoyed being out on the covered wraparound deck.

It was impeccably clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are a bit smaller than we expected and the upstairs tiny bathroom would be challenging to share with two adult couples. We enjoyed being able to walk to dinner and ice cream. The deck on the dune was a great spot to watch sunrise, though beware of the steep sandy decline to the beach if anyone in your family has mobility issues. Beach chairs and rocking chairs were a nice touch.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a good stay despite the weather. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. It's an older cottage, but very well kept and nice on the inside. There is no tub, only showers so keep that in mind, also the 4th bedroom is off the front of the house and is totally separate with a separate entrance. It is advertised that you get to go to the YMCA, which is true but when we called, free swim was from like 4:00 pm to 6:00 or so--just stating that so you won't think you can go any time and that's an option if it is raining. We were disappointed to learn that as we had 2 little ones with us. Overall it's a good home, good location and I would certainly stay there again!
