Leadville, Colorado
Summary:
This Historic Victorian is in the perfect location, right next to Main Street! The Victorian Aspen Grove was built in the 1880s, and has many unique, existing attributes still present today. This house was recently purchased by a Leadville local, and is a constant work in progress/passion project. Although you can expect older windows, dated style and aging cosmetics, the fun you'll have here will be timeless!
The Space:
This home is clean, functional, and is a comfortable place to stay, and the location cannot be beat. There is plenty of space, there is a sauna, and pets are welcome!
Please note: Recently the paint on the ceiling started to peel, and there are a few cracks in the ceiling. Necessary repairs were made when the current owner purchased the home the ensure any visible cracks are purely cosmetic and that the home is structurally sound. The windows may seem draftier. (Although these things can be expected from a home built in 1880's we wanted to be sure to be transparent, please let us know if you have questions).
The house is two stories. It has two bedrooms, with a queen bed in each. There is a sofa sleeper downstairs. Three bathrooms (first floor - half bath and upstairs - one bathroom with a shower and one bathroom with a bathtub only). The exercise area & Sauna room are available for your use. (This home technically has 3 bedrooms, but we have converted one of the bedrooms into a sauna room for ultimate relaxation and recovery).
Guest Access:
You'll have access to the entire house.
The Neighborhood:

-Please do not park in front of the neighbor's house. There are two spots directly in front of my house and additional parking behind the house, in the alley (weather permitting). We really rely on our guests to respectful of our neighbors and the neighborhood.

This is a delightful and charming Victorian house. It is old and has all the character of its time. The property and furnishings were very clean and neat and everything works. It is situated within easy walking distance of the Old Town section of Leadville - and is on a quiet side street with curbside parking for a single vehicle. The sauna is a nice feature. The Internet connectivity was solid and effective. All in all, we had no worries and no snags. We'll be back.
The house is quaint and the rooms comfortable. The front porch needs work. It's run down and is a safety concern. The stairs are very narrow without adequate handrails to go up to the bedrooms. With that being said, we liked it and would consider staying again.
We stayed for 2 nights in August during Boom Days. Communication with the owner/property management company was very good. Location is ideal, with good parking in front of the house and close to Leadville (only a few blocks away) so it was easy to walk back and forth. The house is large with plenty of space, quiet and the beds in the two bedrooms are extremely comfortable. This is an old house with old furnishings, it's clean but old. Stairs leading to the front door are steep and don't have a railing and stairs inside are also steep. The downstairs stays cool but it was definitely warmer upstairs and I don't think you can open any of the windows. Everything worked fine and we didn't have any issues during our stay.
This is a charming, two-story Victorian house that is in a great location in the amazing town of Leadville. We stayed there on the snowiest weekend in several years. Thank you to the owner/management for supplying a snow shovel and broom at the door. Kitchen is well appointed. Several Roku TVs were operational and Wifi was great. Price was reasonable. Downsides: Beds are not comfortable. Windows are drafty (and two of our three nights were very windy). Floors are very uneven (house is for sale, and buyer is going to need to do a lot of fixing up). Stairs are very steep and narrow. There is no heat upstairs, so need to rely on overheating the downstairs and warm air drifting up through vents in the floor. We did find two space heaters (we placed one in drafty bedroom and one in the bathroom with the shower) which were very welcomed. Would I stay here again? No, unless there were new beds, and then not in winter.
I was lucky to secure a reservation for our family for the Leadville Trail 100. By the time I looked at places to rent, there was nothing. A few months went by and I found this place which had the two bedrooms we needed, and was very close to everything we needed. We were able to walk to the Expo, to the start, to the finish, and to grab food and coffees. The space allowed 7 of us to discuss the race, have dinner, and stretch out. Only 4 of us slept there, but beds were comfortable. The kitchen had what we needed to cook meals. There were adequate towels, dishes and other supplies. It is a very quaint home.
We really enjoyed our stay in Leadville. The house is in a great location! It was clean and welcoming. My only suggestion is the exterior and lawn need some TLC. It needs some paint and the stairs and entry way need some work. Also, the grass is being overtaken with weeds.
