We had a wonderful stay with our dogs👍 Very nice backyard patio and fenced yard for dogs to play. Comfortable bed. Just what we needed after traveling all day. Highly recommend!

We stayed at this home for a spring break trip with a family of 6. The fenced in backyard was perfect for my kids (youngest is 2) because there was a lot of room to play/explore and a fence to keep them from wandering off. We had a fire in the fire pit every evening! The location is great. Everything we wanted to do (Maymont, Belle Isle, Science Museum, Carytown) was within 10-15 min drive. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had everything we needed for a family stay (stocked kitchen, laundry, 2 full bathrooms).We parked on the street out front because there was always a spot.I highly recommend this house to another family looking for a Richmond home-base :).

The home is in a wonderful neighborhood and was exceptionally pet-friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. It was stocked with everything we could possibly need, and Mei was an incredibly responsive and thoughtful host throughout our stay. We truly appreciated our time here and hope to have the opportunity to stay again. Thank you, Mei!

Everything was good, the only thing was the front screen door being jammed closed so we had to walk around back to get into the house. We also had to enter the access code a couple of times on the back door key pad for it to open fully.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sweet Family Retreat! It was a short stay, but we would love to come back. It’s cozy and homey, the neighborhood was great, we felt very safe. Easy parking in the back of the house, as well as street parking. The beds were comfy and the house was clean. We hope we will be able to stay here again.

Easy clean and comfortable

I really hate to leave this review because I had good communication with the host during our stay and my kids described the house as cozy. However, when I woke up the morning of our last day there was a roach on the stove. I then tried to make coffee and saw and killed another. Before we left I killed a total of 4. I just think the house needs to be cleaned more thoroughly to ensure no one else has this issue.

Fenced in yard perfect for our multi dog family!

Our family of 5 enjoyed the home for graduation weekend. It was nice to all be together. We loved the backyard space, the deck, and the fire pit.

We had a good stay with a group of friends, and the house was clean and as described. Unfortunately, we were there for one night for a friend’s party who lives in town, and our entire stay was flavored by the parking situation and communication of that by the owner. This property has both a house and a second building for rent, and apparently only one parking space is allowed per unit. That wasn’t in the listing, nor the check-in rules, Mr the marked parking spaces behind the house, and it was very disappointing while we were on our way to our friends house for the event we came into town for to get a call, asking us when we would be moving our vehicle. We pointed out the issue, which the owner claimed to be a technical issue with the listing, but again it was in their written check-in instructions as well. I assume they will get this corrected, and it will be clear to future people, and really there was plenty of parking on the street and it should be a non-issue. It was just a bit disconcerting to have to sort this out while we were trying to enjoy what we came into town town to do.

Had my daughter’s 11th bday party here. 5 girls and two adults. Very comfortable and the girls had a blast

My family traveled to Richmond to surprise my daughter for her 21st birthday. We brought our dog with us. The house is great for pets as it’s fenced in the front and back. The house is older but it’s clean and well put together. We did have an issue with little ants crawling throughout the place but the owners were super responsive and sprayed the house. The parking is in the alley out back or on the street out front. There’s a second rental which I imagine may have been a garage in the backyard, which wasn’t a problem for us but if you’re looking to have late night outdoors gatherings the campfire pit is right outside the other rental. So keep the noise to a minimum after hours. The other rental was occupied the whole time we were in the house. This is a great place for families traveling to Richmond with pets. The entrances are not handicapped friendly if you’re not able to go up stairs without a ramp. I have an ambulatory 14 yr old with cerebral palsy, he was able to do the stairs in both the front and the back with minimal assistance. One of the showers has handicapped bars for getting in and out, the other shower is very high up and was not accessible at all for my son. The area is convenient to a lot of places and walkable too.

For our week long stay, this house proved to be outstanding. Fantastic location; very safe and walkable. House was clean. Beds and sofa were comfortable. Property manager was exceptionally responsive. Single story was a huge plus for us. Hope to stay there again in May.

We came to Richmond for my soon to be DIL bridal shower. Parking was easy, the house was great and it was close to the shower venue. It gave my family time to reconnect and celebrate the bride to be. Thanks so much!

Our hosts were great and very responsive throughout the length of our long stay. The location was perfect. Very accessible to the Richmond area and immediate proximity to downtown and west end. It needed a good cleaning… but the host responded immediately and came and cleaned again. We felt the beds were super soft and for us they were uncomfortable. The 2d bath in the rear of the house was always super cold, so we didn’t use it (in fairness we never brought this to hosts attention as we made due with the one bath). No dressers or chests for clothes in the bedrooms, but each had a small closet; which is fine but not ideal for longer stays.

Great house with all the amenities needed. Central location in town, easily travel to surrounding destinations via Uber or car. Check out was easy and quick

We came to watch our daughter run the Richmond Marathon. The location of this property was perfect as we were able to walk to the marathon route. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for seven of us to stay. Having laundry on site amd two full baths was so helpful. Communication with the host was prompt and seemless. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The location of this property was perfect for a visit with family in Richmond. Enjoyed walking in the neighborhood and the ease of parking. Neighborhood was quiet. The check in and communication with the host was easy and attentive. We did not bring our dog but I took note of the fact that this would be a perfect place if traveling with a dog with the backyard fenced in and a nice neighborhood for walking. I also noted that the house was clean considering how pet friendly it is. The house is a little dated but certainly pleasant enough and, again, the older furnishing are child and pet friendly. The backyard and deck are very nice and we definitly enjoyed the outdoor space. We like to eat in and I did find the kitchen supplies dated and minimal but would be adequate if eating out for most meals and certainly clean. Overall, a positive experience and recommended.

Tight squeeze for a family of 4! There were ants throughout the house even in the bedroom. It was tough to communicate with the owner as I would message via vrbo but a response came via email so the communication thread was not visible. But location was great! Also to note the backyard backs up right to another tiny house that someone lives in so it’s basically on the property. It was not an issue but surprising to see someone! A heads up would have been appreciated!
