Atascosa, Texas
The house is perched on a cliff that overlooks the Medina River and features a giant deck with an outdoor dining table that seats 8, a fire pit tucked in ancient oak trees, a generous screened porch to lounge, and private stairs down to the cypress lined river bottom where guest can enjoy 200' of riverfront to swim, fish, and relax.
Guest will have exclusive use of the whole house on a 2 acre privately gated riverfront property.
We are a 10 minute drive to Castroville, the "Little Alsace" of Texas, and a 25 minute drive to downtown San Antonio.
The Steel Haus provided the perfect place for our quick getaway. The back deck and screened porch are definite highlights. My only complaint is we didn’t stay long enough! The hosts are gracious.
We had an amazing time at the SteelHaus. It was just far enough out in the country to feel Texas and close enough to San Antonio to easily get to anywhere you want to explore. The kids loved having the yard to roam around in and the access to the river to fish after busy days. The outdoor deck is an wonderful place to sit and soak in the beauty of the trees. They have the house stocked with any and everything you might need for a relaxing trip. We can not wait to be able to come back and visit again.
The property was absolutely wonderful. The river is such an added bonus to have in the back yard. The river temperature was perfect with gentle rapids ideal for propping your chair up and relaxing. The property was very private, very clean, and well thought out to host guests. Everything imaginable needed was provided. Excellent experience and we will be looking to book it again in the future.
It was a fun experience at the Steel Haus! We enjoyed the unique finishes and the cool outdoor space. This artsy hideaway was equipped with all the amenities and the hosts were kind and welcoming. A highlight was when our girls got to see fireflies for the first time hanging out in the backyard.
We enjoyed our stay! Pretty quiet and relaxing! The house was perfect for our little getaway! There weren’t any wash clothes which was a bit weird but other than that it was perfect!
We had a wonderful time here. The river is perfect, secluded, and just the right size for splashing around. The house is full of clever decisions and great uses of space, particularly the screen-in porch and large deck. One note for future visitors: there is no freezer or ice maker, so make sure to bring your own (not too inconvenient, but the nearest gas station is about 15 minutes away). We’d definitely come back.
The stay here was great. The place was exactly as pictured. The river was deep enough to hangout and swim in. Everything was great and I would stay here again.
Brought my wife and 2 daughters for a 2 night stay. This place is such a unique gem I only wish we had more time to enjoy it. The mornings were especially delightful sitting outside and listening to the river. We would definitely visit again.
We really enjoyed spending time in the backyard and river. The house had everything you could need. Close to San Antonio and we also did day trips to Austin and the beach.
