Stayed Feb 19, 2025The property was listed as a 3 bedroom. When i got there, it was really a 2 bedroom and a sofabed. I had extended an invitation to another couple to join us, which unfortunately they could not. Since we had planned for a three bedroom, our guests would have been inconvenienced. That was the only negative.

Stayed Apr 17, 2026We always have a great time when we stay at The Retreat. It is clean and comfortable. There are restaurants and shops nearby and the downtown area is about 10 minutes away. We look forward to our next stay there.

Stayed Mar 10, 2026The property is very well maintained and there are a couple of good casual restaurants in walking distance. Communication with owner was excellent. Perfect for two couples or a family to share. Only downside was a bit of road and neighborhood noise.

Stayed Mar 2, 2026Our stay at the Retreat was terrific. The unit was clean and comfortable ...just as advertised. The host was very responsive. The outside area is very unassuming -- a gravel parking lot on a main street -- but we felt quite safe. The location is about a 20 minute walk from the waterfront and downtown and there's a great breakfast restaurant about a block away.

Stayed Dec 11, 2025The property was very good overall. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were large and comfortable. There was a large living room with a very comfortable couch and large TV and each of the bedrooms have Roku TVs that were large and mounted.Check-in was very easy once we inquired about the keypad code. We had some issues operating the heat and coffee maker, but the owners were very responsive and said they will look into them and were very gracious about our suggestions. The house is close to Mount Dora, but not within walking distance. It is only a short five minute ride away so that wasn’t an issue, but it is just something you should be aware of.

Stayed Jul 26, 2025The Retreat was just perfect. It was very clean and tastefully decorated, very good quality sheets and towels. Booking was pretty easy and the host/property management were very accommodating. I would stay here again and would recommend it to everyone.

Stayed May 16, 2025This little cottage was perfect for us. We enjoyed the many little touches, such as coffee and ice! The location was great, right across the street from a gastropub and a free transportation hub! We enjoyed both!
