All wolf appliances from the stoves to the blender and toaster. 3 giant subzero fridges, and enough counter space for an entire family to cook at the same time and be comfortable. Spring and summer months are absolutely the most beautiful time of the year. There are 4 master suites all have their own unique charm. Chrome room: has a beautiful view of the river and has an open Vegas style open layout. The bathtub is viable from the bed sits in a window to enjoy the best views in the house. Heated floors, beautiful windows that reach 24 ft high, this room is the most modern and sleek room of all rooms in the house. Copper Room: this room was designed for the man of the house, my father. I opted for masculine colors copper tiles and dark granite shower. This room features its own steam room, 3 shower heads, heated floors, a big Japanese copper soaking tub, a private lanai, nice views, and king sized bed. Ivory Room: this is the master suite in my humble opinion. This room was designed for my mother with a private fireplace, claw foot tub, an expansive deck that connects to the great room deck, Cal King bed, heated floors, steam room, and sits on the main floor. Myrtle room: Sits up river and has a romantic vibe that has a cal king bed, its own private lanai, the biggest Japanese copper soaking tub one could imagine, and heated shower floors.
This house and hosting guests has become my passion. From small details ranging from providing cozy robes to being available 24/7 on the property, offering chef services, or talking with guests about the property, and surrounding areas. Ive worked hard to make sure the guests that stay at Elk River Camp will have a relaxing and awesome time. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions about the house, the property, surrounding areas, or anything that comes to mind.
The house and location were amazing. Ariel was there for every need and went out of her way to make our stay outstanding. We plan to return.
Pure bliss is the only way to describe my family’s experience at Ariel’s stunning home perched above the beautiful Elk River. My husband and I rented Ariel’s home for a week, as a gathering place with our two adult children and one significant other. From my initial on-line inquiry to our last communications upon check out, Ariel responded quickly, kindly and informatively—one could not ask for a more attentive, thoughtful and respectful host. This house that her father designed and had built is clearly dear to her heart and she makes every effort to ensure her guests love their time in it. It could easily be featured in Architectural Digest but at the same time it is hospitable and cozy. There was plenty of shared space but also ample bedrooms and other areas to retreat to for when we needed a break from togetherness:) Ariel had thoughtfully readied the house for our arrival with fresh flowers, scented candles and assorted spa products to be enjoyed in the house’s plentiful soaking tubs and steam showers. The incredible Chef’s kitchen was stocked with all the essentials as well as a panoply of top-of-the-line appliances that our foodie family enjoyed to the hilt. Most nights we either cooked or grilled at the house and then enjoyed dinner on the house’s expansive and comfortably-furnished desk. Port Orford and nearby Bandon also afforded opportunities for meals out. The house was perfectly situated near beaches, rivers and hiking trails so we could enjoy all manner of outdoor activities. Ariel knows the area well and was happy to offer us ideas for excursions both on and off the beaten path. That said, we had a hard time leaving the sunny deck where we started each day with a steaming cup of coffee listening to birdsong and gazing out on the massive emerald fir trees and azure blue sky.
Wonderful house in an amazing setting!
This property is a gem -- four generous suites, a commercial kitchen, a lodge-like communal gathering space with a 47-ft high ceiling with exposed rafters, a deck overlooking the river -- it doesn't get much better than this! Port Orford and nearby towns are easily accessible for supplies and crabbing is great from the piers. Ariel & Patrick were great hosts.
This is one of the best places we have stayed. We booked this beautiful home as a birthday celebration for which we were considering going to a luxury resort. There is no chance a resort could have been as nice, as comfortable, as relaxing, as quiet or as fun. The home is spectacularly designed, top end, unique, bright, open, comfortable and peaceful. The bathrooms are luxurious and the kitchen is fantastic. The views are stunning. The hosts, Ariel and Patrick, are amazingly kind, warm and helpful. They showered us with homegrown produce, allowed us to pick anything from their garden, were responsive to any inquiries yet gave us privacy. The home is near a beautiful beach (Battle Rock) in Port Orford, great hiking in Humbug Park and some wonderful small farms (especially Wild Woods Gypsy) and markets. We stayed here two weeks and still wanted to stay longer. We will certainly return.
My family just returned from a weeklong get together at this awesome house and property on the Elk River. We had a great time and everyone was really impressed with the house design, the really cool/ spacious bedrooms, the views of the River, etc. We enjoyed swimming/snorkeling in the Elk River crystal pools, the easy but semi remote access to 101 and the southern OR coast. Ariel is a great host and was always available to point out where to find things in the house, accommodate any extra needs, and give suggestions of places to go.
Spectacular home with views of the Elk River and nearby hills from every room. Sit on the deck with your morning coffee and listen to the water rushing by as you plan your day (beach? hike? bike? explore towns along the coast?). Return after your day of adventure to make dinner in the well-appointed kitchen, watch the sun set, and enjoy a jacuzzi before bed. It doesn't get any better than this. The perfect family escape.
Stunning home, overlooking Elk River, we loved the view, as well as the incredible kitchen. Our family had a wonderful, relaxing stay, including day trips exploring the beautiful southern Oregon coast. Responsive, helpful host, beautiful flowers, artwork and other thoughtful touches.
