The Normal School House

This rental is amazing! It is very clean and tastefully decorated with many thoughtful touches and various nooks and crannies for hanging out or playing games. The power went off after a storm and Liz checked on us to make sure was all okay, she was very attentive and helpful offering a wonderful welcome booklet with information about the property and city. Will definitely stay again!

We enjoyed our stay at the Normal School House. The property was just as it was advertised! We arrived in the evening and were able to navigate and easily gain access to the house. Initially, we were in the wrong driveway from alley, but quickly figured it out when the neighbor opened their garage door! :-) Maybe, the house number on the garage would be helpful. We enjoyed the family time in the spacious living area. While only in town for the evening, we took a drive down Beaufort and was surprised by the many lights decorating the trees!Prior to our departure the next day, we wished more time would have been available and a non-rainy day to enjoy the back and front deck on the house. Truly enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay here again!Thank you for sharing your house with us!

This house was fantastic. Very clean, tastefully decorated, plenty of amenities. The hosts were great, the yard was great. We were here for ISU family weekend, were able to have a few families over. It was perfect.

This property is marvelous!! It is well appointed, accomodates a family or 3 couples easily, and gives you plenty of room to spread out or congregate.The property has easy access to downtown.We loved our stay!

Liz was a perfect host! The place is exactly as described, and better. Decor was on point, the place was so spacious. Everything you need in the kitchen. Play area was perfect for our kids (6 & 8). The place was so comfortable for our family of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids). Liz was kind enough to bring a twin airbed over (along with some local adult beverages that were greatly appreciated!). Due to the extreme heat, we didn't get a chance to enjoy the backyard/firepit, but the A/C sure worked inside! We're in the area yearly for a junior golf tournament, and we will for sure be back!

Such a wonderful and seamless stay! We stayed with our two boys, 5 and 8. The host was so nice and communication was really great! The property was very clean and the perfect place to stay after driving all day! Our kids really enjoyed the playroom in the basement and the deck outside! Definitely will stay again if we are in the area :)

Visited niece attending ISU. The stay was great! Perfect place to hang with family - dinners on patio and evenings by the fire pit. The owners are great - attentive to any need, took care in the details. The house and outdoor space was perfect. Highly recommend.

We met with football coaches at Illinois State University and this house was very convenient. It was within blocks of the stadium and 7 of us could easily function in the house. Liz was awesome!! She was so accommodating and helpful.

Amazing proactive host. Amazing place. We slept 8 very comfortable, plenty of space in and out and well-lit property. They considered every detail....and a Mixpresso to boot. Great stay overall.... even left some pizza in the freezer for our kids sine we were arriving so late....Really 5 star.

Beautiful home, family friendly, and well stocked for a meal away from home. We will most definitely be back when we're in the area. The host had a fun playroom for our 4 yo, toddler bed, travel crib and highchair. Everything was set up and ready to use when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked; we made every meal in the house.

We were in town for my sons graduation at ISU. This was a wonderful house. So neat & clean. Great location. Liz was so nice & accommodating. She was available at every step of the process. A+ host. Would highly recommend. 😊

Liz is an amazing host and this house is the nicest rental I’ve ever stayed at! The kitchen is stocked with all the cooking tools you need to make meals and every aspect of the house makes you feel right at home with elegant furnishings and stylish decor throughout! The bed is also very comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet and easily located. There is even a garage! You’ll love staying here! I highly recommend this rental!

Thanks to our rental of the Normal School House, 3 generations of our family were able to come from Florida and Alabama and join with the members still in Illinois, including our 94 year old matriarch, for a special Thanksgiving celebration. The house was so welcoming and well appointed, and in my dealings with the owner, I felt like i was interacting with a long-time friend.

In town for a charitable event, this property was well appointed and met all of my expectations. Liz was excellent to work with and the property was lovely.

We really enjoyed staying here! The house was very clean and felt very comfortable. The host was very responsive and attentive to our needs during our stay and I would recommend staying here to others! The neighborhood was very nice as well and was a short walk from campus, which was really nice! I plan on coming back for sure! :)

Great house close to ISU campus. Accommodations were wonderful. All updated technologies whether it be speakers, smart tv, USB, etc. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice and clean. And, we enjoyed the espresso machine in the morning. Would definitely stay here again. Owners are great and communicate everything very well. Best, Nohrens & Gibsons

The house was beautiful, clean, and the hosts thought of everything. Every need was met, plus some! The house was even better than the pictures. My 5 and 3 year olds had a great time playing in the kid area. Would love to stay again!
