The Nook: Downtown Galena Cottage w/ hot tub & fire pit!

Stayed here for a girls weekend. Very cute little house with fun artistic touches. Clean, nicely furnished with special extras like robes in the rooms. Hot tub worked well. Great location in a quiet neighborhood within 10-15 minute walk of the Main Street with shops and restaurants. Hosts were really responsive, easy check-in.

Overall we liked the Nook. Beds are comfortable, communication with host was very clear and helpful, the hot tub was great and robes in the house is a nice touch. The space is clean and decoration and layout was great. We would have appreciated more towels specifically since we used the hot tub. The only negative is the odor in the house. We walked in to an overpowering scent that I believe was a very powerful diffuser of a cedarwood oil. It filled the house and was unpleasant. It was so strong that everything I brought into the house had to be washed when I got home. When we turned down the diffuser, unfortunately a pet odor became apparent. It is a shame because this house was great in every other way. I sadly wont book this place again due to the smell.

The whole home felt so incredibly comfortable! All week we kept talking about how soft the beds are, we loved them! It’s decorated cutely with subtle retro nods and an emphasis on comfort. It has everything you need including a box containing things you might have left at home. It was easy to find, close to downtown, and very cozy. Next time we’ll have to be sure to try the hot tub and fire pit. Thanks, Phil, for being amazingly quick with your kind responses. Rent The Nook, you won’t be disappointed!

We had an excellent stay! Phil was an excellent communicator and an excellent host! We absolutely loved the house. We felt right at home, it was clean and perfect for our needs. The big backyard was excellent for our sweet puppy. The hot tub was great for relaxation time. The beds were cozy and comfortable. The location was perfect and so close to the downtown. We can’t wait to return.

We loved our stay at the nook. It was extremely dog friendly and the fenced in yard was spacious and such fun for our dogs. We enjoyed using the hot tub and the close proximity to downtown for shopping and dinner out. Phil was extremely prompt with communication And flexible regarding early arrival and our pets.

Phil, the owner was quick to respond and reached out throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. The home was spotless and clean. Everything we needed to be comfortable was on site. Phil really thought of everything. The hot tub was clean and in great working order. Our pup was super happy with all the toys and goodies for her to enjoy!

Very clean place! Beds comfortable. Large bathrooms. Hosts communicate very well and answer any questions very quickly! We would stay here again!

Everything was great. If you want a place to stay at, this is your go-to. Ottos down the road was good, Grant park is right there, or if you wanna chill, this place has you covered too

Amazing yard, nice location, great communication from property manager.

Cute properly, great for pets, reaponsive host, only issue is the layout of kitchen which if you have only cook you can adapt.

The Nook was perfect. The yard is perfect if you have dogs and the host catered to our four legged friends with beds, toys and treats. Although the railroad tracks are nearby it wasn’t as loud as expected. They are that frequent and fun to watch. Close proximity to town and could walk downtown if preferred.

This property was great for a weekend Galena visit with friends! Close enough to downtown to walk, but far enough away to stay quiet at night. The hosts were communicative and helpful! Would stay here again.

Completely secure & fenced in, a tad dark at the back of the property for past sunset - bring a flashlight! There is a neighbor dog to the right of the property that barks but did not come over to the fence line, probably a senior (just FYI for future visitors in the case of reactive dogs).Would stay again, 10/10

Super cute, clean and quite for the most part minus some train activity. We had a great time in down town galena and would love to stay at the nook again the next time we come!

This home was soooooo convenient!! The house is very charming and beds were comfortable. The back yard is huge and would be so ideal for dogs. We enjoyed the hot tub as well. The house is a little small. We had 5 adults staying, but probably wouldn’t recommend for any larger group.

Inside is clean, smelled good organized. Beds are great. Didn't know train tracks were next door. Neighbors dog barked fairly often. Otherwise, great

We stayed at this house for our company Christmas party, and it was great! The communal area was clean and spacious, providing plenty of room for everyone to mingle. The cozy bedrooms offered a comfortable retreat after a fun-filled day.The location was prime. Not on the busy Main Street of Galena, but close enough for easy access with a short walk. Nice and quiet.One of the highlights was definitely the hot tub, which was a delightful treat in the middle of winter. It added a special touch to our stay and was enjoyed by all.Overall, this property exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely stay here again.

Cozy

I liked putting up the notes on the fridge it was nice of you to let me do that! it was small and cozy and the vinyl sounded nice for 5 seconds before my dad told me not to go on it anymore because i could break vinyl easily XD! very cool place 10/10 but the train was very loud O_O That was my daughter, we had a great time. We spent 5 nights at the Nook! It was perfect for our stay! The home was clean, cozy and Phil’s communication couldn’t have been better. We loved the hot tub. The kitchen was fairly large and equipped. We enjoyed the coziness of the living room too. We drove to town which took about 5 minutes. We would definitely return!

My wife, dog, and I had a wonderful stay at this property. The hosts were incredibly communicative and accommodating. Very comfortable with great amenities, and a very short (and pretty) walk to Main Street Galena. Large backyard for our dog to explore! Will definitely plan future trips here in the future.

Very clean home with many amenities to include a large fenced in yard, fire pit and hot tub. Location was a big plus also.

Cousins getting together for a weekend in Galena. We found the Nook to be a perfect base of operations for our exploration of Galena. The Nook was clean, perfectly appointed with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We didn’t even have a chance to enjoy the fire pit or the hot tub. We highly recommend the Nook!!!

Phil was a helpful host and the Nook was as advertized. It was clean and included the necessities, like shampoo and towels. We appreciated the living room area where we could sit and talk as a group. The kitchen is a bit small for multiple people doing multiple kitchen tasks, but we managed. I would recommend this place and host.

Good time by all

Very much enjoyed our stay. My mom was having surgery. This was a very calm and lovely way to spend the evening. Especially enjoyed some time in the hot tub!

Phil was a terrific host. He responded to all my questions quickly and followed up with us after we arrived to make sure everything was okay. It is a very cute, comfortable house.

We had a wonderful girl’s weekend at this adorable home! Clean, cute, good gathering space, and located in an historic neighborhood. Large yard with BBQ, fire pit, and hot tub. We didn’t have a dog, but noticed that it was well outfitted for a pup. Deck gate, fenced yard, dog bowls, bed and treats. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the host’s great communication. We hope to be back!
