Stayed Feb 6, 2026Very nice property with parking and easy entry/exit. Rooms are comfortably furnished with good lighting and easy access to plugs. Nice baskets with all the towels you will need are waiting for you upon arrival. Comfortable beds. Bathrooms are nicely appointed. Lots of closet space, and little touches like luggage racks are so helpful. Chairs and couch in the family room are comfortable. TVs work well. We had a little problem with one tv upon arrival - it turned out to be a power block failure- and host went out of their way to send over a handyman and quickly addressed the issue. We didn’t cook while we were there but the kitchen is nice and the refrigerator works well. Excellent communication from host, with recommendations for the area as well. Reasonably priced for a lot of space.

Stayed Jun 19, 2025The property is older, but is remodeled, clean and well-maintained. James and staff were the most accommodating hosts we have ever had. If we go back to Richmond we will rebook through James.

Stayed Mar 29, 2025Overall, the stay was alright. The neighborhood wasn't unsafe, but it wasn't exactly clean and quiet. The house was good, and fit our needs for the week we were there. Except...The kitchen was disgusting when we arrived. There were standing pools of water between the dishes and bowls stacked in the cabinets. There was standing yellow water in the coffee carafe. Somehow, a pile of coffee grounds came out of the k-cup dispenser when we cleaned it. Blinds were broken -- one heavily -- and the pots were rusted through. We reached out about the pots, and thankfully the rental company was able to get us new pots delivered the next morning. I could forgive most of this, but many of the same issues we saw were mentioned in a review six months ago. With that in mind, I wouldn't be able to recommend this stay without more issues being addressed.

Stayed Nov 14, 2024Stayed here for marathon weekend. Location worked very well as it was only about a mile from starting line and only about a 5 min drive to the restaurants and bars of The Fan neighborhood. The house was clean and comfortable with easy check-in/check-out. It is close to train tracks, and there was usually one loud train whistle each night. I would happily stay here again.

Stayed Jul 12, 2024Positives: The owner is very responsive to emails. The location is close to restaurants and supermarkets by car. Plenty of space to stretch out in the dining room and living room. Kitchen is spacious and plenty of room in the fridge and counter space. What we didn't love: Lots of little fixes that could improve the experience, like knobs in the kitchen that needed simple fixes, and fixing the trash can lid; The pans in the kitchen were Teflon, very old and used, we didn't want to cook anything in them. There are two chairs in the living room but no side tables, so no where to put a drink. Master bedroom shades were broken in parts, looked cheap and unloved. Master bed was impossible to sleep on, I sunk down so far when I laid on it, it is very poor quality and ended up sleeping in another room. House smells like someone smoked in it years ago, and it seemed like there was some attempt to mask it, but I could still smell it. Master bathroom - there are 2 sinks, one which has terrible water pressure; the other has good water pressure, but you have to kneel on the toilet to use that sink. Cabinets in the master bathroom need to be painted, looked cheap and worn. Master shower head could be replaced which would improve the flow; water pressure in both bathrooms was weak. Neighborhood isn't attractive. Overall, this wasn't the experience we were hoping for. I think the home could be improved quite easily with a few easy upgrades.

Stayed May 20, 2024Spent 3 nights here visiting with old friends and enjoying all that Richmond has to offer. House is comfortable, offstreet parking is wonderful, and James is an amazingly responsive host! Would stay here again anytime.
