The Nautical House-Downtown Galena

The house had everything we needed. It was uniquely decorated with a nautical theme. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch people watching and seeing the park across the channel. Great place overall.

Location is excellent! No real check in, they provide entry code. Home is very comfortabe & perfect for 2 couples. Quirks with electricity & slow tub drain. We pulled a wade of hair out of drain! Could use better lighting, especially over kitchen sink. The light over diningroom table has a broken bulb base in it. Lamp in diningroom is plugged to extension cord that goes into wall. Seems against code. The drain plug for kitchen sink is missing making it difficult to do dishes. We improvised with stuffing rag in drain! Some light bulbs are burned out. We just took from lamps we weren't using. The whole house could use a good dusting. The side window in front bedroom doesn't lock closed & top sash lowers itself. We realize its an old house so we can overlook small things but just want to let owner know. This is our second time staying & will come back!

The property was very clean. The master bed broke on the first day. I texted, emailed and called property manager and still haven’t heard a response. We slept with the mattress on the floor. The one toilet made a screeching noise after flushing that didn’t go away right away. GREAT location

Loved the nautical theme and great connection to Galena’s history. Great front porch with a view of the river and great people watching, and a very nice deck in the back. Very close to downtown, it’s real the front door to Main Street. Very clean and well fitted.

Cute and cozy home, great location! Walking distance to all the cute shops and restaurants. Went for a girls trip and had the best time. Tip: park in front first to drop off baggage and then find private parking in the back.

House is very cute, designated parking spot is wonderful and walking distance to everything!

We absolutely loved our stay in Galena, and the nautical house was spectacular. We would definitely stay in this house again and we plan to come back. The house was amazing.!!!!!

Stayed 3 nights. Every day we learned more about this historic and quaint town. The home was generously equipped with essentials.Very comfy beds and very clean. Nice to have a parking spot - the stairs to get there were steep but doable. A

We loved our stay. The home was in a great location with plenty of space for 4. Having 2 bathrooms was great. We were able to walk back and for easily and safely.

This house is absolutely adorable and clean. The location is perfect for someone wanting to easily walk to the restaurants, boutiques and wineries. This was our first time in Galena and we cannot wait to come back. Thank you for the perfectly located, safe and clean home

It was a wonderful stay. A short walk to all the restaurants! Great views of galena. Just need a little upgrade in the beds, but other than that it was clean and cozy! We definitely will stay there again!!!!!

This home is old, quirky and charming in a perfect location. Steps (without climbing steps) from downtown shops and restaurants. Wonderful front porch and back deck/yard. Be aware your parking spot is on Bench Street with several steps down to house. We have stayed here several times and intend to come back.

The property has a lot of charm and was just the right size. It was very clean, and with being on Main Street it was only a short walk to the start of the shops (and cool how it’s right next to the gates). The only improvement is with directions for parking. My group got confused as to which Presbyterian church we needed to look out for in order to find the right lot (Maps only showed 1 church that was labeled as such but it wasn’t the right one, and there’s several churches on the same street for many blocks). Even a local who tried helping was confused. Overall though, this was perfect for our stay and will definitely consider booking again!

Great location and comfortable lodging.

We were in town for a wedding, this location is great to be able to walk all over down on main street. How was clean, nautical charm. They do disclose no hand soap, although I think they should be able to provide we bought 3 for kitchen and two bathrooms. Great backyard space, the bed was not comfortable in the large room, my husband never complains and even his back was hurting. There are stairs to get in to house, and to go upstairs where both bathrooms located. Overall we enjoyed our time and would definitely book again!

Great stay! Sitting on the front porch was delightful. It was so convenient to have parking and walk to everything right downtown.

Our family with two young kids had a great stay. The house is located right in the town so only a couple blocks to restaurants and coffee and shops. The house was very clean and cute, authentic to the town. Parking was so convenient. Highly recommend!
