The Lucky Buc-Pet friendly cottage perfect for a couple or small family.

What I liked was the location. We stayed there to attend the Ocrafolk Festival, and we were only 2 minutes away (by bike). Also having a parking spot for our car right next to where we were staying was great, even though we never used our car the entire week. The area was also quiet, which was nice. What I did not like was the clutter and the general condition of the house. It's small and space is at a premium. The couch was way to big. There was a stool that was unnecessary and just taking up room. A decorative tchotchke on the coffee table was also unnecessary and was quickly placed out of the way onto the floor. Other minor issues that detracted from the stay included dull cutting knives that were in dire need of sharpening and only one dinner knife. We were told to bring our own toaster as there was none. That turned out to be false. There were 3 coffee makers, 2 of which just took up more space. There were no clothes closets and very few clothes hooks, so you wound up throwing clothes where ever you could find a space. The outside deck had a 2-piece gate which was difficult to open and close. It also was made up of rusty chicken wire which was broken in places and presented a cutting hazard. One of the chaise lounges had broken straps. I bring these mostly minor issues up because it appears the owners have not visited the house in a while to check its condition. None of these on their own was a big deal, but taken together they add up.

Loved that we could have our small dog with us, really liked the deck and the outdoor shower. Plenty of room inside for the 2 of us plus our small dog, good location and easy parking.

This was a perfect little beach cottage. It's private, the decor is so unique, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is big, the kitchen is really well set up, we went to escape the city for a week during the pandemic and it could not have been better suited for that purpose. In addition to a great place, the location is phenomenal. Ocracoke is unlike anywhere else along the OBX. The people are kind and tolerant. The beaches are wide open. I couldn't recommend this more highly.

A good value and very convenient to everything. A bit cramped for us - very large furniture - but was comfortable. The AC was cold and the internet connection was fast but we never could figure out how to find what we wanted to see on tv. We could not find any instructions on how to find our favorite network shows on the ROKU tv. That was really frustrating.: someone needs to Suggestion needs to take a hammer to the dozens of nails that are popping up on the deck. They are both uncomfortable and dangerous.

A lovely place to stay on Ocracoke! Comfy and cozy. Close to all the things, so you can walk, bike, or ride to the attractions.

Such a charming cottage. Ellen and Russ were so friendly and easy to work with. Our doggies were welcome. They enjoyed the freedom of the deck since it had a gate to the steps. We highly recommend this property.

A nice one bedroom beach type cottage. The interior was cute and beach themed. The a/c worked well, separate units for bedroom and living areas. The kitchen had everything needed. The exterior was a bit worn and faded. Having a golf cart available was a very nice touch. Excellent and prompt communication with hosts.

This was my 4th time staying at the Lucky Buc and I absolutely love it. It's always so clean and accommodating. I love the location being so close to town as well. I definitely plan to stay here again.

The property on the inside is clean, however the location is not. The property looks older than the picture. Very clean on the inside though.

This is our 3rd stay at one of Rus and Ellen's rental properties. They are perfect little getaways and very welcoming of dogs.

Perfect location! We loved the ease of communication, the ability to get a golf cart at the house, and the wonderful hosts. We would definitely stay again!

Exceptionally clean, especially for a pet friendly place. Outdoor shower with hot water is perfect for getting the sand off you are your dog. Close to some very good restaurants, Dajito is great. Very quiet, we are already booking another stay.

We had an awesome time. The property was extremely clean and Russ was a great host. Outstanding location close to restaurants, Zillies and Silver Lake.

A perfect place for my husband and I. Very clean and host thought of everything. Loved the motion light in bathroom and the whimsical cabinet knobs. Just a great safe clean place!

Wonderful, cute place, with lovely set up with nice bedroom and bath. Quite charming.

Charming, older cottage. Perfect for a couple and a pet. However, we did not enjoy the seclusion of the property. Being behind another house. Russ was great with golf cart issue. Wonderful experience.

Third stay in this property, fourth with this owner. Very happy with the stay. Only suggestion would be a section of palisade fence between the second door and the outdoor shower. Property is actually even more quiet now since the campground across the way became annual leases only.
