No air conditioning — Leadville sits at 10,152 ft and nights stay in the 40s–50s even in July.

Managed by Traverse Hospitality, a Colorado-based professional management company.

Guest Access:

Guests have the full private home to themselves — both bedrooms, the bathroom, the kitchen, the living room, the zen area, and the back deck with the hot tub. No shared spaces. Self check-in via keypad. Your door code, WiFi password, hot tub instructions, and a Leadville guidebook arrive by email before your stay.

The Neighborhood:

The Little Lodge Leadville sits in downtown Leadville's Victorian historic grid, on East 4th Street — one and a half blocks north of Harrison Avenue (downtown's main commercial corridor). Leadville sits at 10,152 feet elevation and is the highest incorporated city in North America.

Walkable within 5 minutes: Harrison Avenue restaurants (Periodic Brewing, High Mountain Pies, Treeline Kitchen), the Silver Dollar Saloon (1883), Melanzana fleece, the Delaware Hotel, the Tabor Opera House, the Leadville Railroad depot, mining museums, galleries, and coffee shops.

Year-round outdoor access: Mineral Belt Trail (short walk), Mt. Elbert (14,440 ft) and Mt. Massive (14,428 ft) trailheads (25 min south), Twin Lakes (25 min south), Turquoise Lake (15 min north), Ski Cooper (25 min north), Copper Mountain (~35–40 min east), Vail / Beaver Creek (~45–55 min via I-70), and Independence Pass to Aspen (1.5–2 hr in summer only; pass closed November–May).

Getting Around:

The Little Lodge is walk-to-downtown — Harrison Avenue is a 5-minute walk south. Most guests walk to dinner and walk home.

Getting to Leadville requires a vehicle — there is no regular public transit. Denver International Airport (DEN) is 2 hr 15 min via I-70 and US-24. Eagle County Airport (EGE) is 50 min via I-70. Colorado Springs is ~2 hr 45 min.

Parking: street parking directly in front of the home. There are usually open spots out front; if not, adjacent blocks typically have space. No off-street spot.

Other Things to Note:

ALTITUDE: Downtown Leadville sits at 10,152 feet. Plan your first 24 hours easy: drink double your usual water, ease up on alcohol, and avoid heavy exertion the day you arrive. Symptoms of altitude sickness include headache, nausea, and shortness of breath. Hot tub + altitude combination hits harder — pace yourself. We cannot offer refunds for altitude sickness — if you're prone, consider travel insurance.

NO A/C: Nights in Leadville run 40s–50s even in July. Windows and cross-breezes handle daytime warmth. A/C is not installed and is not needed at this elevation.

PETS: The Little Lodge is pet-friendly. $60 + tax for one pet, $120 + tax for two pets (maximum two). Please do not leave pets unattended outside. There is no grass yard — bring poop bags for walks. Pet fees are collected via the guidebook portal, not the booking channel.

HOT TUB: Small 2-person hot tub on the back deck. Hot tub operating instructions arrive with your check-in email. Please shower before using, no glass near the tub, and close the cover when not in use.

PARKING: Street parking directly in front of the home. No driveway or garage.

NO YARD: The home has a deck, not a grass yard. Factor this in for dogs.

CHECKOUT TIME: Checkout is 10:00 AM. This is earlier than some rentals — please plan departure accordingly.

QUIET HOURS: Leadville observes Quiet Hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please keep hot tub conversations at an indoor volume after 10 PM.

WILDLIFE: Mountain home in a residential grid. Occasional insect or small critter. Keep doors closed and trash indoors.

LICENSE: License #004976.

For stays longer than 15 days, a mid-stay cleaning is required and an additional fee of $150 will apply. This helps us maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensures the home stays comfortable for the duration of your stay.

ARRIVAL EMAIL: Look for our arrival email with a link to the digital guidebook — check your spam folder. Guidebook has door code, WiFi password, hot tub instructions, and local tips.

Interaction with Guests:

Traverse Hospitality manages The Little Lodge. Your check-in instructions, door code, WiFi password, hot tub operating instructions, and a full Leadville guidebook (walking-distance restaurants, trailheads, ski conditions, emergency contacts) arrive by email before your stay. We monitor messages every day and respond quickly — most guests never need us, but we're one text away if you do.

Excellently remodeled with a great floorplan! We enjoyed being able to walk almost everywhere. The basic cleaning was fine, but deep cleaning has been neglected. Some spice bottles were empty, hand soap too. Hot tub water was murky, crumbs in drawers, hair in sheets. It had snowed and we had to shovel the steps ourselves to get in. With a little more attention from the mgmt company, the property could be top notch.

We stayed here in Leadville for a few days to have access to all the nature in the area. This cottage was a perfect central location with easy walking access into the town that had a number of restaurants and shops to explore. The cottage had a back deck with a hot tub and a mountain view which was perfect for relaxing after a day of adventuring. Would definitely stay here again!

Annual MLK Day trip to Ski Cooper. Host offered us an extra night to start our weekend early and we took them up on it! Had a lovely wfh Friday in the cozy cabin. The hot tub was fantastic after a super cold day on the mountain while we watched the snow fall around us listening to the owls. Very quiet neighborhood. Will definitely book this location again!
