Communication with the owner was great. It is adequate for staying in, but felt very empty and bare. I once lived in a frat house for a summer that the boys cleaned up...this had the same vibes. Not terrible and it suited my needs for a couple of beds to lay our heads. But probably not a place to stay if you are interested in the comforts of home or amenities. The house in general is in need of some updates and basic care (the drains were very slow, the floors had a ton of wear and tear, etc). And the trains running through the night is kind of a no-go if you are a light sleeper. It was loud and frequent.

This property had a ton of space! It was an old house, and the property owner did a fantastic job turning it into a place for friends to stay. It is located near the university campus as well as train tracks. Thus, we were pleasantly surprised to find white noise machines in each bedroom! That may have been the most thoughtful 'amenity' I've ever encountered in a vacation rental. We also love the character this house had!!

Needs more furniture in the living room, had no end tables or coffee table and not enough sitting room, also one of the dinning room chairs were glued together and one of the adults almost get hurt really bad from it breaking .otherwise it was a nice stay.

Front bedroom by the train tracks was terrible we must have heard 30 trains that night the second night was much better with only about three trains we had to go by ear plugs

The trains roll through many times per night. Half the windows do not have screens.

To be fair about my rating, the property was not available due to the extension of a long term rental

Nice older house, bigger than we expected. Pet friendly and very accommodating for our stay. The negatives are the train runs multiple times throughout the night, the horn blowing can be heard for several minutes….. night two we played music on our phone to kinda drown it out. I repeat it runs several times per hour, per night…..😂 Also the house is behind a very popular Bar and on Friday evening it was packed, very active area. Saturday-Sunday morning very calm.

I’m still hearing the trains go by! Very loud and outside trash cans need to be kept up on.

Bottom line-it met our basic needs, but I wouldn't book it again unless I had few other options Pros: Prompt communication spacious Well air-conditioned Off street parking Comfortable beds Nice furniture Close to business district Affordable Cons: Not the cleanest-at first glance it was fine, but I noticed spots on the mirrors and dust on the countertops Almost empty soap dispensers and soap was cut with water Trains, very close and running through the night The lock and door are finicky. The doors appears to have been kicked in at some point, making the lock not work quite right. Several times we locked the door at night only to find it unlocked in the morning because we hadn't pushed it hard enough. While communication was prompt, it was minimal. I received no check in info other than the passcode, which wasn't well explained until we had issues getting in.
