Stayed Feb 14, 2026Beautiful home with plenty of room for our three families to stay, kids, teens and adults all had a great time. Such a fun house to stay in, everything felt very clean and it had everything we needed. Would love to stay there again. Appreciated the very clear instructions from our hosts and great signage for things like operating the heat. An amazing stay!

Stayed Jun 27, 2025This old house was amazing! Plenty of room for the 21 of us. Such unique interior design, I think we counted 68 doors on the interior! The kitchen looked small from the pictures but there is an over abundance of storage areas. Probably the best stocked I have ever had in a vacation rental. Easy to get to Acadia too!

Stayed Jun 24, 2025As a family of 18 traveling together, we found this was the perfect place for all of us to be able to stay together in one place, while at the same time, having plenty of space to spread out! The home is very comfortable and equipped with everything you would need for your stay! I would highly recommend this home for a large group! Host was very responsive to questions before and during our stay. Two thumbs up!

Stayed Mar 26, 2025What a wonderful home for a family reunion/birthday party! Our ages ranged from 11 to 81. As I wandered the many halls and rooms I liked to imagine I was in a Jane Austen or E.M. Forester novel. We all loved the house so much. It's true as other reviewers mentioned it's a little spare for the folks who use walkers and canes, no hand holds in the bathrooms and all showers are (gorgeous) on the second floor. But we worked it out fine. The younger set loved the loft space. Each bedroom has its own lovely personality. The multiple living rooms are cozy and grand at the same time. Plenty of spaces to gather as well as nooks to provide respite from the fray. Only thing I really missed was a teapot. The house has probably seen many arrive, to brew tea and break through the years. I almost bought one at 1A Relics to leave behind but decided I could survive just steeping my tea in one of the million mugs for a few days. Maybe next time I'll bring one ;-)Cale is a great host and the communication was clear and easy.Thank you again, Cale, for not keeping this house entirely to yourself!

Stayed Sep 12, 2024The Jarvis was just perfect for our family reunion! There was plenty of room, both inside and outside to gather and celebrate. At the same time, everyone had their own luxurious private space. We spent much time around the enormous dining room table having meals, playing games, and telling stories. For morning coffee, we gathered around the outdoor gas fire pit, and for our not-to-be-missed NFL games, we enjoyed the spacious living room and huge tv. Host Cale Jacobson was terrific and we felt very comfortable from for the entire stay. Many Thanks!

Stayed Aug 24, 2024To celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday,a large place was needed for my children and grandchildren. All 17 of us picked a winner - The Jarvis Mansion! Nicely located for day trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We all welcomed the heated pool and hot tub after fun sightseeing days. Communication was easy with our hosts. There is no better place on earth to enjoy lobster dinners.

Stayed Jun 29, 2024We had family of multiple generations, aged 3-90. The home was able to accommodate our group. Note that there are no showers on the first floor, which was a little problematic for one of our group. The many sitting/living spaces allowed everyone to sit together and for smaller groups to visit in quiet. The smaller living area beyond the laundry was a great space for the toddler to chill. Easy walk to downtown Ellsworth which has a variety of stores and restaurant/bars. Outdoor cabana area was comfortable and used often. Manager responded to questions and concerns promptly and was helpful and accommodating. We gathered in the sun room each morning to plan our day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia.

Stayed Feb 16, 202413 of us, aged 1 to 84, enjoyed this year’s family Girls’ Weekend at the Jarvis Homestead. Lots of room to gather, chat, eat, and play. Bedrooms aplenty—all with comfy beds. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking all weekend (including salt & pepper). The hot tub was a hit. Convenient location for walking and exploring downtown. Thank you for everything. We will be back!
