The Hobbit house is a very lovely home in South Ogden 23 minutes from Snowbasin. The home has everything one could need or want including a very large, functional backyard. The home has a large kitchen with everything a chef could need. Master bedroom has a new King size bed that is super comfortable. Guest bed has a double on bottom and single on top. All very comfortable. This was my second time staying here and I will return. Near grocery stores, Costco, liquor store, and sporting goods stores (Amer sport). Traci is a joy and always available, helpful, and very communicative. I recommend this home highly.
The house was very clean & the kitchen & bathroom were well stocked & organized. The kitchen had many small appliances. The king sized bed was very comfortable. The property had two trampolines & a foosball table which was great as we were in town visiting my daughter's family including 4 grandkids. The house had a big deck on the end of the house with a BBQ & prep table. They was even some fresh basil growing. The customer service from Tracy was very good. The neighborhood was very quiet. On arrival we could not get either TVs to work. Had to call the owner. She was unable to get the living room TV to work (no TV there during our week's visit) & the TV in the bedroom was unplugged & not near an electrical outlet. The owner got it working with an extension cord. The TV service was some amazon box & was not easy to use. We missed the soccer playoffs!! There was a stereo in the dining room that didn't work. The pretty candles on the dining room table didn't work. Many lights in the house didn't work or the bulbs were burnt out. No instructions on how to use anything including the huge fireplace which we didn't need anyway. The toilet in the bathroom was wedged between the vanity & the washing machine & was wobbly from the floor. My honey used the Jacuzzi tub & had to take a shower afterwards as the jets must have been dirty. No outside garbage can to use just an open small bucket. I did really like all the windows and the wooded back yard. On afternoon saw a deer in the wooded area.
I had an awesome weekend stay at the Hobbit House. It is funky and lovely inside, with eclectic styling that does not sacrifice comfort. Traci was a gracious and responsive host. I would highly recommend this place!
Darling house!! Very cozy and comfortable place to stay. We enjoyed watching the deer right outside our window!
The property was fine, but the owner would not respond to us to refund money. And the money still hasn't been refunded after several attempts to contact her and weeks have now passed.
The Hobbitt House in South Ogden, UT was perfect for our needs Mon-Thurs nights and was our first time to rent a vacation home. For four days, we paid the daily $89 plus $10 extra person ($99) and a $25 cleaning fee. A $43 ($10.75 daily) service fee to VRBO was added that I hadn't read about. After I reserved it online, we were confirmed 24 minutes later. It was a one-level, cozy, casual, comfortable, 1400 sq ft, very clean, cottage-style home with 2 bedrooms--1 king, 1 double bed with a strong ladder to a top twin bunk with a strong rail. The one spacious bathroom had XL thick towels, tub/shower, and washer/dryer. Kitchen cupboards and drawers had everything we needed (even included some pantry items and many baking ingredients). There was a Keurig coffee machine with coffee k-cups. We bought groceries and ate here every meal. From the kitchen sliding doors, there is a gorgeous view of the mountains. One length of the house is solid floor-to-ceiling windows in the long dining room, living room, and king bedroom. One day we watched the beautiful snow falling in the wooded back yard. The large solid dining table has 8 chairs. A tray of 5 pillar candles had a remote that made them change colors and was fun during dinnertime. The living room has a leather-like sofa, indoor gas log firepit, foosball, and XL sectional sofa, TV, wifi, and a nice mounted pronghorn antelope. Kitchen and bathroom flooring is nice flat tile. Other rooms have large rugs, runners, and a bit of uneven stone flooring, no wall-to-wall carpeting. Lighting was dim in some rooms, but it was not a problem for us. Just inside the front door is a pretty rock wall feature. There is a wrap-around boardwalk with a nice wood deck, gas grill, and padded chairs. You can park in a one-car carport and the long driveway. We opened the sliding doors for fresh air that first day with beautiful weather. There are nice stepping stones around one side of the house. Thank you, Traci, we totally enjoyed our time with family and all the little things you provided like the afghan and fuzzy blanket we used on the sectional as we watched one night of March Madness basketball!
Would stay again! Clean and provided everything we needed. Thank you!
Went for skiing @ two area resorts with my two teenage boys. The place was perfect for this--20-30 minutes drive. Fireplace, sleeping beds for all of us, comfy couch to rest and everything we needed. Kitchen had all the necessities-spices, crockpot, even foil and plastic wrap. Owner was responsive, and pleasant even came to clear driveway of snow in the dark to make sure we could get out. In S.Ogden so if you need to rent skis, get grocs, restaurants are all minutes away.
This house was perfect for our family of 4! It's a great location and the fireplace was amazing. We will be back in the spring!!
Overall, we loved our stay at the Hobbit House. It was clean and everything we needed in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom was provided. Unfortunately, in the master bedroom the mattress on one side sagged and if you try to sit on it you will slide out of bed. Our 3 kids had plenty of room to play and the adults enjoyed the fireplace and mingled in the spacious living room. The Foosball game was great fun for the entire family. The view of the mountains in front of the house is fabulous and grocery shopping is nearby. The owner was always available and we would definitely stay at the Hobbit House again.
