Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Welcome to Iseminger Street!
Nestled on one of the most picturesque and quietest car-free streets in Philadelphia: This property is a few blocks from Independence Mall, The Liberty Bell, The PA Convention Center and it’s near the heart of all the historic sites Philly has to offer! Entire two bedroom and two full bath home, a rarity for this neighborhood. One king bed, one queen bed, and one pull-out sofa. Private, covered back patio with ceiling fan, wood fireplace in living room, dishwasher, washer/dryer, high-speed internet, coffee maker, all essential: fresh towels, linens, extra blankets, soap, hair dryer, etc. and tons of CHARM included!
While still firmly rooted in history dating back to the 1800s, this house has also been thoroughly updated. What is so special about this home is the original detailing: wood-beamed ceilings, original plank floors, fireplace (fireplace in living room can be used & other three fireplaces are only decorative), paneled doors, & vintage built-ins. Eat in kitchen, large back patio, two spacious bedrooms, & two bathrooms with natural light.
**Please be aware that this property has somewhat steep stairs -- typically ok for most but may not be suitable for very young children or the elderly.**
The entire home is yours to enjoy! The key will be left in a lockbox, so you'll be able to check in & out at your convenience. I will be available throughout your stay if you need anything & I'm always happy to help you customize your Philadelphia experience. If you need any advice on restaurants & things to do then please ask!
My home is in the middle of the Washington Square West neighborhood & was built in 1824. It is one of the oldest & most historic areas in Philadelphia. The neighborhood is residential with historic townhouses, but also walking distance to everything in Philadelphia including many restaurants, bars, & attractions. The Pennsylvania Convention Center, Rittenhouse Square, Old City, Society Hill, South Street, Bella Vista, & Graduate Hospital are all within a five to ten minute walk. The street is one of the most charming in Philadelphia & is quiet despite being in the middle of the city. You'll find everything you might need within walking distance including a corner store, coffee shops, Sweet Box Bakery, Whole Foods, a wine/liquor store, Walgreens, & many top rated bars & restaurants!
Public transportation (bus & subway) is easily accessible. There is a bus stop just east of 13th & Lombard & the subway stop (Broad Street Line) is located at Broad & Walnut. The house is within walking distance to two major train stations (Suburban Station & Jefferson Station). 30th Street Station is a ten minute Uber/cab ride & airport is twenty minute Uber/cab ride. There is also an Indego bike share station just a couple blocks from the house on 13th between Locust and Walnut.
Because my home is located on a car-free street in the heart of the city, nearby street parking can be limited. However, there are a few parking garages & public parking lots close by that charge about $30/day to park. Most street parking near the house is fine for 2 hours, but you can go a few blocks south of South Street to park for extended periods of time & I'm always happy to offer tips & help assist.

The property is in a great location if you’re looking to explore the city. We found it very charming especially the historic side street it is on. There are many nice restaurants within walking distance and if you don’t like it clean, go to dirty Franks on the corner. We enjoyed our evening there because the people were the coolest. We would return to this property and recommend it.
We truly enjoyed our stay in this charming home. We had every amenity we needed and more. The suggestions for dining were appreciated and we enjoyed reading about the history of the home. We would love to stay here again!
Such a great area. So many restaurants and historical sites. The house was clean and comfortable. The host was very responsive to any questions. Nice neighborhood!
Great place to stay.
Dad and I travelled to Philadelphia to see the history. To be able to stay in such an amazing property that is historic in it’s own right was amazing. Very good shape, clean and comfortable. A great place.
I stayed at the house for a month. It was a great place to stay: a nice home, with all the character of a 19th-century residence, on a quiet side lane with no through traffic. The house still has its original narrow, winding stairways (so, not a good choice for anyone with mobility issues). But it has all the modern conveniences, so it's a comfortable trip back in time! The host is very friendly, communicative, and helpful. On future trips to Philadelphia, I'll always check on this place first!
The house is beautiful & neighborhood are beautiful! Our teenager absolutely loved the colonial aesthetic look/decor. The neighborhood had everything we needed in walking distance, OId City, food, shopping, markets, public transit. The stairs are steep but just don't rush down & you'll be fine. The beds were great as well & we slept like babies (which is rare for us). Thank you Brook for opening your doors & providing such an awesome place for basecamp while we were in Philly! If we ever make it back we'll definitely stay again!
Located well for public transit. Central to the city, but on a quiet backstreet.
This home was beautiful! We loved every minute of staying here. It was like a trip back in time. We stayed a week and got pretty acquainted with the area by the time we left and discovered so many nice restaurants and places to visit within walking distance of this home. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s a cupcake shop right around the corner that has very delicious cupcakes! The neighborhood is quiet and felt quite safe. Walking the area was a treat. We found quite a few cool murals and stunning architecture. Would definitely stay again. Lastly Brooke was easily reached when we had a question. FIVE STARS!
My sister and I loved our stay in Brook's charming row house! The house is so lovely and cozy and the neighborhood is beautiful and everything we needed was a short walk away.
Very historic property in perfect location.
Comfortable, clean and fully equipped 2BR, 2BA townhouse located on a pedestrian lane in Center City/Gayborhood. Thoughtfully furnished with comfortable furniture and beds, colonial antiques, updated bathrooms, W/D and well-stocked kitchen. Nice neighborhood with lots of mural arts, restaurants and shops nearby. Easy walking to historical sites. Host Brook was very attentive and responsive. If we return to Philly, we'd stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay. The property was excellently located for walking to main attractions . Plenty of good food options nearby. The house does have ste
We loved staying in the house. It was within walking distance to great restaurants and places. If you are looking for a unique place to stay , this is the place (just be prepared for the steps) :)
When you stay here, you stay in a piece of history. The home was well equip. We were prepared for the steps and had a baby gate with us to keep the little one from falling! We had plenty of room for everyone. The property is quiet and the outdoor patio was a delight on cool evenings. We could walk or take a bus anywhere we wanted to go. Wonderful hosts think of everything we would need. Thank you for having us!!
