Come use our creative space to write the next Southern Rock ballad or just soak in the atmosphere! This historic home is the childhood home of the Van Zant family, including Lynyrd Skynyrd founder Ronnie Van Zant. The epic rise to fame of the original version of Lynyrd Skynyrd was tragically cut short by a plane crash in 1977 that took Ronnie's life, and that of several other members of the band. But their music will live forever, and hopefully this house will stand as well as a living tribute to the Van Zants. Inside this main house, you'll find some cool memorabilia, a vintage 1938 Brunswick pool table, and a retro 70's feel, to remind us all of the way things were, with a hint of nostalgia. Your visit will help ensure this house forever remains a part of Rock n Roll history! See also, our other three listings at VZH - the Annex, Studio, and Hideaway. Contact us to book larger groups!
If you’re a music fan, pool player or just wanting to step back in time this is the place for you! Very cool!
The Van Zant house is a living memorial for fans of Ronnie Van Zant and family to enjoy. This home is not for modern conveniences and comfort. The pool table and musical instruments are a great addition. This place was exactly what I thought it would be, I enjoyed every minute!
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Van Zant House...It was exactly how Todd described it...Very retro to keep with the vibe of the 60's and 70's...The location was great. We were within 30 minutes of all the Van Zant history sites, dive bars, restaurants, and even had a day at Neptune Beach! We had an awesome time and definitely will be back!
It brought me back to my teenage days growing up in Florida, remembering the legends that lived there, when their songs were released, it was an experience my daughter and I will never forget.
This was an incredible experience for us. You have to realize that the house is not a modern, remodeled home. That would take away from everything that it should be, a very authentic form of the home Ronnie and his family grew up in. We also highly suggest anyone reach out to Gene Odom and do a tour with him. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for Skynyrd fans!
We had a lot of fun with some friends that go way back to high school. This place makes a good get away.
My 17 year old is a huge Skynyrd fan so when we saw we could rent this property we jumped on it. Listing is very accurate. It is a 70s vibe. We had everything we needed, felt safe in the neighborhood, host was very easy to stay in contact with. My son is already ready to come back.
Had really great weekend. Loved the history of the property-
It was amazing to have the opportunity to experience staying in this historic home. Long live Skynyrd and God bless the Van Zant family.
Cool place. Neat slice of History right down the road from The Jug. Consider booking this place the more bookings the cooler this place can be. The pool room and the living room have great vibes. The home is older and could use some updating while keeping the 70s feel. Be a part of music history and let your rental dollars go to keeping the Rock n Roll in this place!!
