The Historic Van Zant House (Skynyrd) | 1500 sq ft | King

We are great fans of Lynyrd Skynyrd so we were willing to spend 400 to stay the night in such an iconic place where the kids grew up. We were disappointed to see that there was no effort to include stories of the actual experiences that took place in the home (ie: who's room was who's, favorite meals, activities, singing as young kids, sitting around the fireplace, who picked on who, parents jobs, odd jobs of the boys, kinds of vehicles they drove, kinds of trouble they got into around the house, first song they wrote as kids, etc). There is an aunt who wrote in the guest book who welcomes any questions. The owners should call her to collect some stories to be posted on the walls. We would also suggest a few fixes like wallpaper falling down, a fresh coat of paint in places, possibly replacing the refer that is covered in rust, replacing the kitchen seat covers that are covered in stains, new towels and an actual curtain or shades behind the bed. You can keep the authenticity but make the stay a little more inviting and comfortable.

If you’re a music fan, pool player or just wanting to step back in time this is the place for you! Very cool!

The Van Zant house is a living memorial for fans of Ronnie Van Zant and family to enjoy. This home is not for modern conveniences and comfort. The pool table and musical instruments are a great addition. This place was exactly what I thought it would be, I enjoyed every minute!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Van Zant House...It was exactly how Todd described it...Very retro to keep with the vibe of the 60's and 70's...The location was great. We were within 30 minutes of all the Van Zant history sites, dive bars, restaurants, and even had a day at Neptune Beach! We had an awesome time and definitely will be back!

It brought me back to my teenage days growing up in Florida, remembering the legends that lived there, when their songs were released, it was an experience my daughter and I will never forget.

This was an incredible experience for us. You have to realize that the house is not a modern, remodeled home. That would take away from everything that it should be, a very authentic form of the home Ronnie and his family grew up in. We also highly suggest anyone reach out to Gene Odom and do a tour with him. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for Skynyrd fans!

We had a lot of fun with some friends that go way back to high school. This place makes a good get away.

My 17 year old is a huge Skynyrd fan so when we saw we could rent this property we jumped on it. Listing is very accurate. It is a 70s vibe. We had everything we needed, felt safe in the neighborhood, host was very easy to stay in contact with. My son is already ready to come back.
