The Highlands Hideaway, 50 steps from Restaurant Row, Downtown, Expo, Highlands

This is a beautiful home located in a good location, within the restaurant row area. The location is about 3 miles away from Kentucky Kingdom and short distance from downtown Louisville. The home was clean, roomy and beautifuly decorated. The owner, James, was quick to respond to any questions and was very pleasant to work with. I appreciated the little extras he provided for me and my family, like leaving a bowl of snacks for us upon arrival. We truly felt like we were home while we were there. I would definitely stay at this property again when we visit Louisville.

Great location close to everything

Great location! The house was lovely and was well appointed. There was plenty of space for my 4-person family. The owner was very responsive to all questions. Check in and check out procedures were well communicated and easy to follow. We would definitely stay again!

This was by far one of the BEST places we have ever stayed!! So clean and beautiful & near lots of places. Comfortably accommodated 7 of us! Host was amazing. Will be staying here again if ever back there

The house is super clean, quaint, walking distance to multiple restaurants, and they left us cute little snack foods on the island. The beds are new and super comfortable. Love the decor!!! Would definitely book again! Certainly a place that makes you feel right at home.

Host was communicative and accodomated an early checkin and late check out. Loved the arrival snacks. Was also nice to find some things in the fridge/pantry eg coffee, condiments, some beers! I always have leftover stuff at a rental and hate tossing it. Bathrooms were also well stocked - shampoo, bodywash, q-tips, etc.

Fantastic house and location! Second time staying with this host. Easy walk or drive to downtown as well as Bardstown Rd. Can’t wait to visit again!

The property was well decorated. Everything we needed was available. I was a little disappointed in the master bed and sheets seemed to be worn and staring to ball up. The kitchen faucet needs some attention, very little water pressure. The wine glasses were all plastic and well-used. Other than that it was as described.

Great communication with James. He promptly answered every text we threw at him, even restaurant recommendations. The place was clean, in a great location, easy parking, excellent TVs, great snacks waiting for us, and even a couple of beers in the fridge. It was our favorite VRBO for our family in Louisville. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Loved the location - close to so many restaurants, and parks to walk around. Great neighborhood. Beautiful houses to look at. Also loved the house itself and that they had so many kitchen supplies. Normally you stay at a place and they have terrible pans for cooking, but not here! James was also a wonderful host and any issues that arose, he took care of ASAP

We (two moms traveling with two teens) came to Louisville for a national volleyball tournament at the Expo and couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! From the moment we booked, James was an incredible host—super communicative, helpful, and easy to work with.The house itself was spotless, beautifully decorated with a fun eclectic style, and had plenty of space for all of us to spread out comfortably. The beds were incredibly cozy, and honestly, this was the best-equipped home we’ve ever stayed in! James thought of everything—no need to run out for supplies upon arrival. The kitchen was fully stocked, there were ample cleaning supplies, plenty of towels, and even thoughtful extras like shampoo, soap, a hairdryer, and even a flat iron. The welcome snack basket and waters were such a nice surprise!The location was fantastic—situated in a safe, walkable neighborhood with tons of great restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, and bars just minutes away. Getting to the airport and the Expo was a breeze, only about a 10-15 minute drive.We had an amazing stay and would absolutely book this home again next time we're in town. Highly recommend!

We had the pleasure of staying at this property for my sons 21st birthday week. We were perfectly located to everything Louisville has to offer. The home is clean and well furnished. The beds were comfortable and there's plenty of space to spread out. The neighborhood has many places you can easily walk to for food, drinks, and shopping. We very much enjoyed our time there.

James and the property were both outstanding! It was really fun to stay in such a cool house! The Highlands area is busy in all the best ways! Off-street parking was so helpful and made our stay very easy. The shops, restaurants, spa, people, and energy were welcoming and friendly. I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else if you and your peeps need a quick, fun getaway!!

We came for five nights and it was wonderful. Communication with the host was super quick if I needed it. The neighborhood is so cute and quiet. Walk to restaurants, and cheap Lyft rides everywhere else. We were so comfortable, and I loved all the little touches like nice bedding, great pillows, and little amenities that are so appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for a few nights with family over Thanksgiving. Communication with James was outstanding. The house is exactly as pictured, which means it is interesting and beautiful, combining modern comforts with original beauty. Neighborhood could not have been better - quiet but with extremely easy walking access to a ton of stuff. Highly recommend!

Our stay at this property was great. The property itself accommodated us all with plenty of separate space when needed. We had a power outage one of the nights and the alarm was going off, wasn’t aware how to shut it off, the owner was very prompt in calling us to inform us how. He has great to talk to, very nice and personable

We came in for the bourbon and beyond festival. This home is the perfect location. Not too far to the fairgrounds and walking distance to so many good coffee shops, restaurants and cute vintage stores! The home is very comfortable and clean!

My grown children and I were in town for a wedding. This home was in a great location near so many bars/restaurants. We were also able to walk to Cherokee Park which is a large wooded park with great walking paths. The home was great with space for 8 adults to sit comfortably or sit at the table. There was an issue where the power flickered off and on which made the alarm go off. The host was responsive and took care of it while we went out for lunch.
