About the home

“The Haven” is a beautifully appointed, light filled home in Silverleaves. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

This single-storey home (with 3-4 stairs to access) has a large open-plan kitchen / dining / living room (with smart TV, subscription to Foxtel and coonara-style wood heater), leading onto a shady outdoor deck area. There are four spacious bedrooms; the master has an en-suite (with showerand toilet). There is an expansive main bathroom (with shower and a spa bath), and a separate toilet. Finally, there is a large laundry (with washing machine and a dryer) and access to the backyard.

Outdoor Areas

Outdoor living is catered for as well, with a private front deck opening off the living room. This delightful space is equipped with a gas BBQ and an outdoor setting. There is a fully enclosed backyard with an outdoor shower. Parking is taken care of with room for 3-4 cars in the driveway and front yard, plus plenty of space for street parking in the quiet court.

Kitchen

The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, an Nespresso pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a sink, fridge, dishwasher, gas oven and cook top.

Heating/Cooling Systems

The home is equipped with a reverse-cycle split system unit in the living area and in each of the bedrooms. Separate heaters and fans are also available in each bedroom plus electric blankets on all beds except the top bunks. Additionally, there is a coonara-style wood heater, with a small amount of wood supplied to get you started.

Bedding Configuration

This home has 8 beds, plus 1 fold out bed, accommodating up to 13 guests:

Bedroom 1: One Queen bed
Bedroom 2: One Queen bed and one fold-up Single bed
Bedroom 3: One Tri-bunk and one Single bed
Bedroom 4: One Tri-bunk and one Single bed

Please note: A Tri-bunk has a Double bed on the bottom, and a Single bed above it.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm (unless by prior arrangement). Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies, irrespective of whether school-leavers are part of the official Schoolies Program. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process. Local council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.

    Nice place in a great neighbourhood. Walk to the beach and close to Cowes. Everything we needed for a family catch up. The house needs a good clean. Apparently the cleaners came through before us but it didn’t seem like it. The bedding was filthy and the mattresses also. I bought new bedding so my kids didn’t have to use the ones provided.

    We stayed at the house with 4 adults, 8 children and 4 small dogs. We have stayed in houses through most of the holidays all over Victoria. This was a great experience as the beach was within 5-10 minute easy walk. The fences at the property were exceptionally secure which is always great when travelling with dogs. We really appreciate being able to stay in places with dogs so put blankets and sheets all over the furniture to protect it. Big indoor and out door tables which was great for games nights. Weather was good so we didn't use the fireplace but can imagine it would be lovely on a cold night. We had a fantastic time and exhausted dogs by the end of the stay. Thank you so much. Would highly recommend the property for a lovely dog friendly, beach access and great position. We always try to leave a property better than we found it but this time it was impossible. It was just perfect. Thank you.

    A lovely well kept home, everything you could possibly need for a great summer or winter holiday. Close to swimming beach, wood fire . Will be back again. Philip island holiday homes great to deal with, all so easy.

    Location for beach and golf is good. keysafe entry simple and efficient. House was comfortable but would benefit from a makeover and a good clean, however beds were very comfortable and clean. Had plenty crockery etc in kitchen and a good size fridge, laundry room was good allowing washing of clothes to be done whilst there with kids was a bonus. Silverleaves is a very nice area, and the beach is wonderful and very safe for children . We had a lovely 6 day break with grandchildren and family.
