The Great Escape Ski Cottage w/HOT TUB @ Great Barrington

The house was amazing! We were 3 families with 6 kids among us and the house had an amazing kids wing with bunk beds, pop a shot, foosball, and air hockey. We skied at butternut and the location was perfect. Hot tub was clutch. Shay was super responsive. Would love to go back again! Highly recommend

We really enjoyed our stay in Great Barrington. The location was excellent—close to the mountain and convenient to restaurants and town—and the house was a great fit for our family. Everything was comfortable and made for an easy, relaxing stay. One small thing to note is that the office area with the two twin beds is more of a pass-through space between rooms and doesn’t have blinds, but it didn’t take away from our overall experience. We’d happily stay here again.

We had a great time at this house. The second living/play room was great for the 8 kids we had with us as it gave them a separate space to play. The large front and back yards also provided ample space to get outdoors. The house was clean and well suited for our large group.

Everything was great. My grandson had a blast in the game room and going outside to kick a soccer ball around. The only issue was on our last night sitting in the hot tub there was a smell from under the deck that made it hard to sit out there. No one’s fault - probably an animal or something

Beautiful home in Great Barrington. Close to downtown for shopping and trails for walking and hiking. We had a great time! Shay was easy to communicate with, a 5 start host!

Great house for a large group. Lots of seating areas indoors and outdoors to accommodate kids and adults. House was very clean and kitchen was well stocked for cooking. We loved that the bedrooms were nicely separated for privacy, particularly the bunk rooms and nearby game room. Great for the late nighters in the bunch!Beautiful property and less than 10 mins to town.

The house is clean, spacious and comfortable and well stocked with linens, towels, blankets, cleaning supplies, etc - it looks exactly as pictured and has everything you need. The kids’ ‘playroom’ was a great space even for older children, and allowed adults and kids to truly spread out and enjoy the property. We cooked multiple meals, and had all the equipment we needed. The local Guido’s specialty supermarket had an excellent selection of meats, cheeses and prepared foods, which helped simplify our at home meals. Overall, we loved being so close to Great Barrington and Tanglewood - the location can’t be beat. We would happily return!

What a wonderful property for our girls trip! The house is clean, there’s so much hangout space, and it’s so well supplied.

We had an amazing long ski weekend at the Great Escape Ski Cottage. The listing is very accurate. Great communication with Shay. The house was immaculate upon arrival. The layout of the house was perfect for our family (6 adults and 4 children aged 4-9). One beautiful Master Bedroom on the first floor. Two of the other equally beautiful bedrooms are on the second floor. The linens were hotel quality! The Kid's Quarters was located off of the kitchen/laundry room. A playroom with multiple games (Foosball, Basketball, and Air Hockey) as well as a TV sitting area. Two bedrooms (one with two sets of bunk beds and another with a queen bed and twin loft).The kitchen was fully equipped with high quality cookware and more than ample dishes, flatware, and glasses. The hot tub was a nice bonus after skiing! Butternut Ski Resort was an easy 10 minute drive from the house. Downtown Great Barrington was also very close (great little shops and restaurants).This was one of the best VRBO properties that we have ever stayed in and are getting ready to book it for next winter!

There is a game room that provided lots of fun. The linens were luxurious, the kitchen had every utensil. The yard is fenced in, the hot tub was great, we loved it!

Everything was amazing! Two things, the addition is cold, and the hot tub has a bad smell. Everything else was pristine.

My family and two others had a great stay together at Shay's house in Great Barrington. Meeting up from Boston and NYC, it was the perfect halfway point. Between us, we had 6 adults and 7 kids between the ages of 1-11 and the space was perfect for our needs. The kids LOVED the bunk rooms and the connected play room, and the adults loved that we could close the door and they could be as loud as they wanted! Other highlights of our trip included making s'mores on the outdoor fire pit, eating meals around the large table that fit all 13 of us, restful night's sleep in the comfortable beds, time in the hot tub, and playing in the large backyard. The house was clean, spacious, and had pretty much everything that we needed! Thanks for a great long weekend!

Our group of 7 women loved our stay at this house. It was immaculately clean and very spacious. The location is about 15 minutes to several different charming towns. The beds are comfortable and it was wonderful to be able to spread out. I would love to stay here again!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic house in the heart of Great Barrington, and it exceeded our expectations! The house layout is both spacious and inviting, providing plenty of room for our family to relax and enjoy. One of the highlights was the playroom, which kept the kids entertained for hours with its wonderful assortment of games, making it a perfect retreat for them, while the accommodations for kids were thoughtfully designed, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and included. The fully stocked kitchen was a dream for family meals, featuring modern appliances and all the necessary cookware, allowing us to prepare and enjoy our meals together. The location is another significant advantage, as it’s just a short walk to local shops and restaurants, making it easy to explore the charming town. Outside, the yard was a standout feature, complete with a soccer net that provided endless fun for the kids, while the outdoor fire pit created the perfect space. Overall, this house is a perfect getaway for families looking to enjoy both comfort and adventure in Great Barrington, and I highly recommend it!

We just returned from a stay at the Great Escape Cottage. Our party was comprised of 10 adult extended family members celebrating a long birthday weekend in the Berkshires. The consensus from all was that Shay’s home is lovely and so comfortable. The thought that has gone into even the smallest amenities in the home was noticed and appreciated. The house was as pictured, very well maintained and clean. The bedding, linen and towels were hotel quality! The open kitchen, dining and conversation area provided a wonderful space for a large group to gather for a meal or some nibbles before going out to dinner. We also fully appreciated the outdoor space enjoying an outdoor lunch in the early fall sunshine, the hot tub and gathering in the evening by the fire pit. Unexpectedly the Air Hockey table in the game room spawned some nostalgia and sibling rivalry with an air hockey tournament. The location in Great Barrington was perfect only 10 minutes to downtown GB and a short drive to other key towns like Lenox and Stockbridge. Also great proximity to Monument Mountain and Catamount where I would highly recommend the zip lining. Wonderful property that lent to a wonderful time for all! Thank you Shay.

The interior of the house was cleaned well after the last guest. The washing machines had a lot of built-up mold in soap dispensers, giving off a moldy odor. There were visible stains on the chairs in front of the fireplace. The exterior sides of the house and decks desperately needed some power washing to remove bird poop and bugs, and cobwebs. The hot tub was unusable due to frogs taking up residence. This essential basic cleanliness inside and out should be expected for the price of a summer retreat. There was no pantry storage for groceries. The location was great. The owner was responsive.

We had a wonderful stay as a group of 6 adults and 2 children. The house was very comfortable and clean. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen and excellent set up for kids. The location felt private but was still only a few minutes drive from Great Barrington. Thank you for a great visit!
