Stayed Jul 13, 2025Two things: Great layout. Great location. Both sets of grandparents happily stayed downstairs; our family of six had plenty of space upstairs. The layout is quite amazing...it held all 10 of us without strain. Our young children loved the beds. The location is an easy walk to downtown, with its shops, restaurants (Don's has great seafood), waterfront, and fishing pier. We even walked to church. It is also an easy walk to the 'main strip': Maddox Blvd, with its coffee shops, restaurants, and ice cream. Ocean Blvd has plenty of on-street parking. Street is quiet; very little traffic. Google does not show it (yet), but at the south end of Ocean Blvd there is a bike path that connects to Coaches Lane which goes to Pico - great tacos. Extensive biking trails over on Assateague. Crabbing at Aassateague is easy as pie, even for gradeschool kids. The Assateague beach has tons of great parking (on weekdays in July) as long as you arrive by 10a. Beach was busy but not crowded. Good, sane family atmosphere.Every day, one of our children said if we come back they would want to get the same house.

Stayed Jun 25, 2025Property is in a good location to walk to Main St or Maddox Ave. House had plenty of room for the 8 of us. Everything worked as is should. Only down fall was the garage/porch area. We couldn't enjoy it because it got so hot out there.

Stayed Jun 22, 2025The house was wonderful. We had 4 adults and 6 kids and there was plenty of space for everyone to hangout. The extra space in the garage was a huge help with storage of bikes and beach stuff. The kids loved having their own large room to hangout away from the adults. The house is convenient to downtown and its easy to walk or ride your bike places. We would book again.

Stayed Jul 20, 2024We had a wonderful time at The Good Life on Ocean. With several families totaling nine guests, the space worked perfectly for us. The location is fantastic—you can walk to Main St., where there are many shops and restaurants. It's also a walkable distance to the carnival grounds (a bit longer, but manageable), and you're very close to Maddox Blvd., which offers even more shops and dining options. The air conditioning worked excellently, and the kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. Although it is an older beach home, it was very clean and well-maintained, adding to the charm of our stay. There are a few minor improvements that would make a significant difference for this rental: The bunk bed is a basic Ikea model, suitable for very young children. Our 12 and 13-year-olds found it small and uncomfortable, though they made it work. The upstairs room is large, so investing in a more substantial bunk bed would be beneficial. The rest of the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was missing some minor essentials that would have been helpful for a week-long stay: Only one dishcloth was provided; a few more would be very useful. There were no basic cooking essentials like salt, pepper, or oil. Having these basics on hand is usually standard in many rental homes and would enhance the guests' experience. Overall, we had a great stay and enjoyed the property. With these small improvements, it could be even better. Thank you for a memorable vacation!

Stayed Jul 11, 2024This home welcomes you with a fresh, clean, updated feel. The first floor offers two bedrooms, a very lovely full bath, living, dining, and kitchen area, with a nice utility room for the washer, dryer, and refrigerator. Upstairs is a very nice family suite. You first enter the large master bedroom, and through that, you enter the spacious kids' room, with two double beds and twin bunks. We easily carried the two bunk mattresses downstairs to one of the bedrooms to accommodate another family. This house was dubbed our 'quiet house' since we chose our second rental for our main meeting place. The garage could serve as a play area for children in the event of a rainy day. There is a nice cement area behind the house with a hose for washing off sand after a beach day. With a little creativity, the house served us well and made us a refreshing home away from home.
