This log home, constucted in 1955 was built by a bush pilot who transported his friend and flight surgeon to remote bush villages. The flight surgeon built the house directly next door (and is also available for booking). Eventually, this house was purchased by a Swiss artist who painted fun murals on many of the walls and ceilings, most of which have been carefully maintained over the years. Stayed Aug 11, 2025We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is older but nicely remodeled and comfortable. I was a bit worried driving in and seeing all the non-operational vehicles in neighbors yards but the neighborhood was quiet and no parties/yelling accured during our 5-night stay. Kitchen was well stocked, wifi was strong, beds were comfortable, and plenty of towels. Washer and Dryer were old but worked fine. Overall, this rental is worth the cost.

Stayed Aug 5, 2025We enjoyed staying in Anchorage at this cute place. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and we liked having 3 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms (hard to find!). Only downside is that we could not walk to anything, really, but maybe Anchorage isn’t that walkable. Overall would go back to this cozy place

Stayed Jul 2, 2025Absolutely loved The Fireweed House! Our son lives in Anchorage and it was the perfect gathering place for our family and our son's local friends. The hosts, Kari and Beau, were the best and so accommodating! We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Anchorage.

Stayed Jul 3, 2023This place is great. Clean & comfy with unique and pleasing decor. Walking distance groceries, bus routes and downtown area. Only a $9 cab (yellow cab) ride to downtown if you dont want to walk. Good communications with own. Thanks.

Stayed Jun 15, 2023The property was clean and convenient for our stay during our visit to anchorage…..so much more comfortable than a hotel! The property was quiet and everyone had their own space and bathroom. We really enjoyed the murals and home feeling of the house. We ran the Anchorage Mayors Marathon and then we’re able to relax at the house after our run.
