Some of the must do's when in Portarlington

Portarlington is a beautiful coastal heritage fishing village on the Bellarine Peninsula. The historic town sits on a small hill overlooking a safe harbour and pier.

Surrounded by family friendly beaches, Portarlington is a popular holiday destination. It's also a great place for those who like to fish from the pier, or on a boat, with several well equiped boat ramps. The whole family can experience the many water activities on the Bay, including fishing, swimming, snorkelling, jet skiing, kayaking or just playing in the sand and rock pools.

Take a gentle stroll, ride or run along the foreshore track, which leads from the front door all the way into town. This is a magnificent way to explore the area and take in the fresh sea air.

Bring along your golf clubs and tee-off at the Portarlington Golf Club.

The town has several family friendly, quality restaurants and cafes and a wine bar or two that will meet your entertainment needs and is located near a full 18-hole golf course.

For foodies, portarlington is the gateway to the epicurean adventure that is the bellarine food trail, which showcases coveted cool climate wines, gin distilleries, breweries, artisan bread, olives, smoked salmon and fresh seafood. Visit local wineries such as Scotchmans Hill, Jack Rabbit Vineyard and Leura Park, Bellarine and Terindah Estates.

Grab a hot jam donut from the infamous van near the pier.

Great for staycays or working from home (away), Portarlington has a ferry that departs to the Docklands twice a day - great for a day trip to Melbourne or commuting to work.

Visit the local townships of Queenscliff and Ocean Grove for great shopping and ice-cream.

Try your hand at fruit picking at Tuckerberry Hill Blueberry & Strawberry farm. Pick up a jar of their delicious homemade blueberry jam, which goes perfectly with scones.

We had a wonderful stay here for the 2nd time now, great communication with Cathy (host), the kitchen is very well equipped, the view is absolutely AMAZING, we could sit out the front in 42deg heat still in shade & sea breeze watching the world go by, we also had our fur baby with us, the yard is fully secure & to be able to just cross the road to the beach with our pup was absolute bliss. A short drive to the golf club & town centre was very convenient. Thankyou so much for a perfect relaxing last week of our holiday, we will be back. Anna, Joe & Ajay

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. Our daughter and her family , including our 9 years old grandson and our cavoodle puppy , had a pleasant stay. Cathy was very helpful and responsive. The house for 5 of us was very comfortable, clean and a million dollar wiev. Highly recommended .

My hubby, our fur baby & I absolutely loved our short beach getaway. The house was fully equipped with everything & more. The pics don’t do this house justice! Cathy was very prompt with any questions I had & even gave us a later checkout on request. We can’t wait to come back.
