Salt Lake City, Utah
This is an ultra-modern cottage in the chic gaslamp district of Salt Lake City. Just 2 blocks from the center of the Sugarhouse shopping district, which is a great walking/shopping district filled with unique restaurants, shops, boutiques, and art studios. It's a quick 8 minutes to the center of downtown from this unique home via car or bus.
Although the location is one of the best selling points for this home, the house itself is a gem, too! It has recently been completely renovated and modernized to be a super-unique residence that stands out in a sea of plain vacation rentals in the area. The entire living space is above ground, so there's no dark basement rooms. There are two bright bedrooms on the main floor and one huge bedroom with 7 windows on the second floor. Each floor has it's own FULL bathroom and there is a modern kitchen that's fully stocked with everything you'll need to cook full meals. Free off-street parking and free ultra high-speed Wi-Fi. NO CATS ALLOWED. Dogs require a $99 pet fee each. All cancellations made within the cancellation window will have to pay a 3% fee for the total amount paid to cover credit card processing fees.
The master bedroom has high ceilings and there is a bonus dormer room attached to the main master bedroom. Unlike the main bedroom, this bonus room has a low ceiling, so we put lots of lounge pillows and a thick rug so that it can be used as a lounging and movie watching area - a very fun and comfortable space!
There are five beds available; three memory foam beds and two inflating Aerobeds:
• Bedroom 1: King bed (top floor)
• Bedroom 2: Queen bed (main floor)
• Bedroom 3: Queen bed (main floor)
• Living Room: Deluxe self-inflating twin Aerobed (main floor)
• Bonus Loft: Queen air mattress (attached to the master bedroom)
Daniel was quick to respond. Nice house. Nice neighborhood.
Great: The house is remodeled and looks nice. Not so great: 1.Extra charge after damage deposite return deadline if host think you are not satisfied with the stay. 7 days after we checkout, we still didn't receive the damage deposite. So I asked the host, got no response. I mentioned in message, I'm not happy with the delay. Then the host immediate reply, sounds quite angry. The host said 1/11/2021:since you've made it obvious that you want to leave us a negative review for no reason, I think we might have to consider charging you for them.. We checked out on 1/3/2021, deadline for damage deposite is 1/10/2021 as host said previously. 2. Slow communication I asked 2 questions on Nov 24 and Dec 14, both of them are ignored by the host. We decided to take the risk uncertainty and chose to trust the host. Until Dec 15, I pushed the host further for answer, the host finally reply. This is 22 days of wait in total. I complain the delay, and the host think it is a threaten, then the communication became unpleasant. 3. Space is smaller than it looks and plants take lots of storage space The houst space is quite limited because of many big plants. 8 persons skiing trip is very hard to live with this spaces. I hope the host can remove a few biggest plants. 4. Need to help host take care of package delivery The host sent 4 packages in total to the house during 2 weeks of my stay. This makes the spaces in house even more limited. It took the host 3 days to take away these package
We were pleased with our accommodation for all of our family members. We could gather in the living room but each person had their own space. Well appointed with everything you need. We had 4 working adults and we were able to enjoy each other and do remote work. The house is in the best area for going out to dinner and shopping. We loved our stay.
Very convenient location and comfortable. Second time staying there as my son lives in the neighborhood! We’ll be back!
We were comfy and cozy at the Elm Tree Cottage. Thanks for letting us bring our Poms—the neighborhood is a dog- walkers paradise. We loved Hidden Hollow park— so close, and beautiful. Didn’t do a lot of cooking but the modern kitchen had everything I needed. Also appreciated the new washer and dryer— needed them after 2 days of rain. Ate great Mexican and Japanese food at local restaurants, drank a beer, ate a brat, and built a snowman at Octoberfest, and went caving at Timpanogos. We wish we could stay longer—this is our first trip to Utah and we love it here. Also loved the people, very kind folks here. Would also like to thank the owner and management who went out of their way to help me move in equipment for my handicapped spouse. All in all, a 5- star experience.
Had everything we needed
Cami and Daniel were so good to work with - very responsive and willing to work with our family to explore options to possibly extend our stay in Salt Lake. The property is in a great location, comfortable, well provisioned, and spotless. We highly recommend.
Place is very clean and close to everything! It was exactly what we wanted.
Very clean. Very well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Everything we needed for the week
Loved our rental! Owner/contact was extremely helpful and responsive. We stayed here for nearly 3 months with our two dogs and coworker. Lots to walk down the street to, including bars restaurants. 2 grocery stores right down the same direction and easy freeway access. Thank you for having us, would love to stay again next time we're in SLC for work!
Very clear and accurate description.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cute home in the heart of Sugarhouse district in Salt Lake City. Comfy beds, full kitchen with everything we needed to cook meals, & a fun loft upstairs to hang out in. Location is within easy walking distance to several restaurants, shops, grocery stores. Would definitely recommend this place!
The location of this property is perfect for walking to the restaurants and shops in Sugarhouse! It was also very convenient to get to the University of Utah (which we were dropping our daughter off at)
Great for family! Central location, fabulous property
The location and the house served our needs perfectly. The house itself needs a deep clean. Felt like number of spiders in the house was bit too many for my liking. The kitchen was adequate but could use a few more serving pieces. The dishwasher was not working properly and needed to be replaced which the property manager took care of within a few days. The front door was not operational which was a bit of a concern. We were able to get by but I think for safety and security the door handle needs to be fixed. With a deep clean inside and out, this property would be great!
Great house and location, we were just impacted by the change in Utah weather. We had a need for heat at the beginning of our stay and need for A/C at the end, and the performance of both in the house was mixed. Some other small challenges, but management was very responsive.
