Stayed Jun 21, 2025My daughter and I stayed at The Dove house to celebrate her 30th birthday. As pictured, it was an adorable house … so cute, charming and cozy. It was also set in the country - peaceful and away from traffic but still close enough to anywhere in Fredericksburg. The host was so kind … he even had a “ Happy Birthday” banner hung in the kitchen to welcome us. His wife’s homemade granola is to die for! I was just sad we only stayed one night … highly recommend!

Stayed Jun 7, 2025The house is so cute. We enjoyed the decor, the record player and the feel of the old house. It was very clean and cozy. The only thing that could be improved was the back bedroom mattress. Otherwise it was perfect for a sweet little getaway!

Stayed May 26, 2025This lovely little house has a great location. You have the benefit of country quiet while still being convenient to Fredericksburg. It’s a great older home with all the conveniences you could want. The host, Jonny, was extremely attentive and available if needed.It’s a vacation home we will certainly revisit.

Stayed Mar 12, 2025We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming little house! The vintage decor was tastefully done, and the kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. The host's thoughtful touch of providing milk, orange juice, and granola for breakfast was a lovely surprise.The location was perfect for us - far enough from Fredericksburg to enjoy the peace and quiet, but still within easy driving distance. We loved watching the stars and spotting wildlife from the property.One minor suggestion: it would be great to have extra toilet paper rolls on hand. Additionally, providing a bundle of firewood for the chiminea would be a nice touch for future guests (though we didn't miss it due to the fire ban).We noticed a slight musty smell upon entering the house, likely due to its age. However, it didn't detract from our overall stay.Overall, we highly recommend this cozy retreat and appreciate the host's attention to detail.
