Port Angeles, Washington
In the late 1800's, George and Lillie Winters homesteaded here. They were the first to settle the Deer Park area, just 4 miles east of Port Angeles, WA. Over the next 100+ years, the farm became a thriving dairy that served wholesome milk to generations of locals.
The Deer Park Farmhouse (built in 1950 by the homesteaders' grandson) sits atop a hill overlooking the original homestead site, where the impressive 1917 barn and twin towering silos still stand. The large 5+ bedroom, 3 bath house served home-cooked meals to farmhands and family for decades. Though the dairy is no longer active, the rolling hills and panoramic views remain. And now this farmhouse can be the location of your family vacation or retreat.
Located just outside of town where the rural life-style is still enjoyed, but close enough for convenient access to groceries (2.3 miles), movie theaters (0.8 miles) and shopping. Whether guests are planning a day trip to Victoria, BC, a drive up to Hurricane Ridge, visiting the Dungeness Lighthouse, some kayak trips, or a mountain hike, the Deer Park Farmhouse is the perfect base for their adventures. Or if guests just want to enjoy some solitude and panoramic mountain views from the patio (perhaps a game of lawn croquet or badminton), this home won't disappoint.

Authentic old rural farmhouse. Very comfortable for family or large groups. Loved it.
Had a wonderful family stay! It was comfortable and warm like staying at grandmas. Lots of games and movies. Grandkids loved the deer! Plenty of room for everyone.
The farmhouse was obviously old and quirky, but clean, comfortable and spacious for the 8 of us. While it had a beautiful rural setting, grocery stores and restaurants were close by. We enjoyed awesome hiking in the Olympic National Park, riding e-bikes around Port Angeles, and cheering on the 2 family members who went wing walking on a biplane in Sequim—the only place in the U.S. where it is possible!
We liked that it was dog friendly and the frequent visits by deer.
Dont let the outside decieve you, this is a lovely farmhouse with LOTS of room! Kitchen us well equipt for meal prep, and laundry is ready to handle hiking clothes. Games, books, movies for inside. Bocce ball and a fire pit (when there isnt a burn ban) for outside. Fun for everyone!
This property was clean, spacious and well equipped It was the as the perfect location for days on the beach and exploring the park. There was plenty of space for everyone to gather, and enough beds/baths to accommodate down time for three generations It was a wonderful 2 weeks
Great family style home, made us think of Grandmother home. Plenty of room for a large group, big yard, lots of indoor and outdoor games to play. Decent well stocked kitchen.
Great location,
This property is in a quiet neighborhood with deer that pass through the yard. It's close enough for quick grocery/restaurant trips into town and it made a great home-base for day trips into Olympic National Park. Quirky additions to the house were loved by our teen travelers. Enough space for the family to hang out together but also have some privacy/space to relax after a day filled with activities.
It all worked very easy. Good place, quiet, nice host.
Pros: PM was engaging prior to check-in Very large spaces, many tools you might need for longer stays Lots of parking area Very defined and fair check out requirements, easy to clean! Feels like a loved on family farmhouse and keeps lots of that charm close to town, Hurricane Ridge and Olympic National Park Easy to find Large common spaces and kitchen Dish washer is fast! Has a nice Ninja coffee machine Cons: Lots of stuff, everywhere - outside, on the front patio, feels messy and distracting Kept getting flys in the upstairs bedroom above the front patio - we killed 6 on night one, three the next morning, 4 the next night and 4 the next morning, not sure where they were coming in or how they were getting in Some of the kitchen area and rooms could have been cleaned more thoroughly, wasn't a deal breaker, simply didn't feel thorough like it was done fast or without attention to detail. Overall, great large space that worked for what we wanted, probably won't stay there again but would recommend folks look at it to see if it is a good fit for them.
7 of us and the dogs found this farm house to be perfect for us to base a 3 day Olympic National Park adventure. Even with 7 adults we had one open bedroom and 3 bathrooms worked well for the group. The hosts were super accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended The Rail for burgers.
The property in person is not as nice as the picture-the house is much more run down looking. However, the inside was just great-very clean and neat and the beds were good.
We were looking for a large property to host a bunch of friends and to use as a launch point for coastal adventures. I can't say enough about how well this property suited our group. We had ten people and a dog and everyone had a bed, a big well equipped kitchen to cook in, a grill and yard to play in with the dog. I wouldn't hesitate to rent the same property again to host a group. Thanks for the great experience!
So many rental houses nowadays are filled with fancy looking decorations and uncomfortable cheap furniture. This house felt like home. Old, quirky, but clean. Plenty of room for our large family. The country road and backyard views are beautiful. The host even alerted us to unusual traffic delays in the area to avoid.
What a wonderful place to stay! So close to Olympic National Park and everything we wanted to do while we were there A great place for our family get together. Nice and quiet even saw a few deer come through.
It was pretty amazing to come outside to see deer several times during our stay. The house was clean and felt warm like a home. Thank you for the nice stay
Great location just outside the town of Port Angelas in the countryside with large yard to get out and play. House was clean, with plenty of room for evreyone to have their own space. Easy access to Hurricane Ridge and other park locations in the North quadrant of Olympic Park. Furnishings outdated, but comfortable and relaxing for family with kids.
Very suitable for our large group and we'll supplied with everything we needed for cooking. Would recommend.
We had a wonderful time at this cute home. It was comfortable and peaceful. Most of all the essentials were provided. It was sufficient for our family and we had a great time, the yard good sized to walk and play. Owner Ken responded immediately whenever we had any questions. Our entire family enjoyed the stay. Thanks Ken !! Asha.
