Gaylord, Michigan
Looking for a getaway in Michigan's Our 'The David' is newly re-decorated, one-acre wooded retreat that's one of Up North's newest vacation homes!
The welcoming, screened porch leads to a keyless entry, revealing this ranch's delightful blend of woodsy charm and modern touches. The living room provides a neutral sleeper sofa, a large Smart TV, and gas fireplace.
Here are step-by-step instructions on how to turn it on the gas fireplace:
•Safety First: Before attempting to light the fireplace, make sure the area around the fireplace is clear of any flammable materials, and ensure there is proper ventilation in the room.
•Locate the Gas Valve: Find the gas valve for the fireplace. This is typically located either inside the fireplace itself or in close proximity. The gas valve is a knob that you'll need to turn to allow gas flow to the fireplace.
•Turn the Gas Valve to "On": Rotate the gas valve knob to the "On" position. This will allow gas to flow to the fireplace, but the flame is not ignited yet.
•Access the Ignition System: You mentioned a red button on the bottom panel, which is likely the ignition button. This button is used to create a spark that will ignite the gas.
•Press the Ignition Button: Press the red ignition button a few times while observing the pilot light area. The pilot light is a small flame that should ignite when you press the button. It may take a few attempts for the pilot light to catch, so be patient.
•Pilot Light Ignition: Once the pilot light ignites, keep holding the ignition button for about 30 seconds. This allows the thermocouple to heat up and signal that it's safe to release the button.
•Release the Ignition Button: After about 30 seconds, release the ignition button. The pilot light should continue to burn. If it goes out, you may need to repeat the ignition process.
•Adjust the Flame: Once the pilot light is burning steadily, you can turn the gas valve to adjust the flame height and intensity to your desired level.
•Enjoy the Fireplace: With the pilot light burning, you can now enjoy the warmth and ambiance of your fireplace. Be sure to turn off the gas valve when you're done using the fireplace to ensure safety.
The property was close to hikes and skiing. As well was good restaurants. The David was perfect for a 2 couple stay. We are certainly planning to return in the future. Thanks so much.
Very clean and cozy enjoyed our short trip. Wish i could have enjoyed the house more but we were on the go.
First trip to this part of Michigan, came for a wedding. Weather was warmer than anticipated, despite a bit a light rain some days. Easy to find the house, even at night. Comfy lodgings, though could have used some improved interior lighting. Wished we had more time to enjoy the backyard and fire pit, but it was a busy time for us.
Great weekend away! This is the perfect location for a golf weekend. There are several nice courses within minutes of this home. It is a very nice home.
Very nice and a great location
Clean, comfy, quiet cabin. Quick and easy communication with owners. Great weekend getaway!!
enjoyed all of the modern conveniences. cute place. would hope to stay here again some time. lots of golf and good restaurants nearby.
Enjoyed our stay. Beds were really comfortable and the property had everything we needed.
We only stayed for 2 nights as a break on our drive up to the U.P. we loved the screened in porch; my toddler loved to run back and forth. My older boys (12 &14) loved all the outdoor toys in the shed. The theme of all the Davids in the house was fun. We could've used more blankets; the blankets on the beds were quite thin and we didnt find any more anywhere. The Ostego Lake nearby was very nice also.
We enjoyed our long weekend at the David, and exploring Gaylord. Comfortable beds, clean property, and plenty of extras to make our stay fun! We swam in the pool, played in the backyard and ate on the screened in porch. Bathroom and kitchen were stocked, there were floaties for the pool, and the outdoor games provided kept us entertained. Finding all the Davids in the cottage was hilarious. The property managers responded quickly to questions, and the binder with info was helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Cabin was clean and well kept, property was nice to just relax and play yard games. Close to everything in the area. We loved the “Davids” in every area of the house. We’ll be back!
Charming 2 bedroom cabin in the woods but close to downtown Gaylord. Lovely fire pit with outdoor lights strung from the trees! Kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal. Very relaxing break from the city. Owner was very responsive to any questions.
