The Christian House - Downtown Hammond

We appreciated the fenced-in backyard and pet friendliness.

Sergio was extremely helpful and responded in a timely manner to all of our requests. I would highly recommend staying at Christian House.

Everything was great...the house, the host and the amenities! The host was very quick to respond as well.

Place was very clean and convenient location.

The only thing missing was an intro to Hammond and its offerings and a number in case of an emergency. Due to a radical change in outside - and inside- temperature, we had to go through the whole process contacting VRBO before they initiated contact from the landlord who controls the inside temp remotely. That makes sense, but extended our uncomfortable time. All endedUp good tho. We would return!

Sergio is just wonderful, accommodating, and responsive. House was beautifully appointed and clean and comfortable. So nice to be walking distance from downtown. We walked to get coffees, evening dinners outside in the beautiful weather - great location. Our dog loved the fenced yard!!

The house had all the comforts of home. It was a quick stay for us. Loved walking to dinner and coffee shops. Beds were comfortable. We did use the ear plugs for the train. Bathroom was snug but they used the space wisely. Would book again.

I would have given 5 stars but the kitchen amenities were minimal and the listing was slightly inaccurate. Would like to see more dishes and glasses along with more and newer pots and pans. The duplex did not have a hot tub or a bbq.

My wife and I stayed here with our little one. The host communicated well, the property was very clean and comfortable. It was cozy, WiFi was fast, and the location in downtown was GREAT! We walked to most restaurants on the sidewalks, played in the park, and ended up spending the day at Discovery Children’s museum when the summer heat got a little intense. There are plenty of great cafe’s and coffee spots. If you’re there on Saturday morning, it’s also a short walk from the local farmers market! We’ll definitely be staying again when in the area

Cute little place close to activities and restaurants downtown Hammond. Very nice fenced in back yard for pets. You will however need ear plugs for road noise in the front bedroom. Otherwise it was an enjoyable stay.

The home is a very cute and cozy space blocks away from downtown Hammond. We appreciated the walkability to parks and restaurants. We did not like its proximity to a very busy street, the fire station, and train tracks a block or so away. The beds were very comfortable. Ear plugs provided were appreciated. We had to request additional towels, which were provided quickly the next day; I just didn't think I should need to ask for 5 towels when I reserved for 5 people. The kitchen was not adequately equipped to do much cooking. Specifically, the listing noted there was a grill and kids dishes. There was not a grill, and while we don't need kids dishes, there was not enough dishes or utensils to begin with. The pots and pans have seen far better days, as well. Also of note, the listing specifies there is a hot tub, there is not. We weren't worried about that - but the listing inaccuracy is relevant. The washer and dryer were in great shape and washed well. We ran two loads, and it seemed there was a limit of some kind, as the second load we could use only the quick wash cycle. Overall, if you are someone who isn't bothered by loud road noise and trains, and you don't plan on cooking, this is a nice place to stay.

Loved the house, and had zero issues while there. Would suggest to extend the checkout time to at least 11am. 10am is a little early.

Spacious and clean, perfect for a downtown stay. Communication was excellent throughout. Would absolutely stay there again. Can walk to many great restaurants and bars.

We were in town for a wedding and the location and house couldn’t have been better. The property was clean and quaint. We would stay there again!
