The Charter House formally known as The Charter Room. A 3 bedroom house for rent

Great for one or two people and a small child. Had everything I needed, plus. Very comfortable bedroom. New AC worked great. The owners were very responsive. And they have golf carts on site for rent. I would gladly rent at this property again.

Poorly stocked-no coffee mugs,wine glasses, cork screw, spatula or fry pan. No towel racks in the bathroom! Condition of cottage was poor-peeling paint in kitchen-large roach crawled across floor! Left two days early- due to the roach episode!!! Will not be going back there!!!

Overall great place. The only thing is the neighbors not the Grant’s but the other separate buildings. Can be very loud the hit the house with car doors a couple times. Great comfortable place for a good price for a week. Only things I would recommend is a light aimed at the steps or maybe rope lights on the steps as returning late from fishing it was hard to see. Also, a cold water outdoor shower or hose outlet for rinsing sand off. Would save the inside a bit.

Excellent location down a quiet road across from the British Cemetery. Easy walk to restaurants, shops. Nothing fancy but pleasant with a nice bed and super quiet and efficient AC. Seriously, nice hotels should check out this Quietside model. We’d stay here again.

I came in town for a wedding with my wife and 4 year old. I was a little skeptical going in with the size of the property but it felt much larger than 250 sq ft. It's in a great location close to many restaurants, shops, and bars. We also rented a golf cart during our stay and highly recommend it. It makes getting around the island much easier. If we every come back we will stay here again.

Outstanding week-long stay in a very nice. clean, vast and well located property in Ocracoke, a very relaxing and cozzy island in North Carolina. Communication with property owners was EXCELLENT... and we really enjoy our stay! (three adults 60 yrs old). Big thank you to property owners!

Had a great time at the Charter house. The house is nicer and bigger than the pictures show.

Ellen and Russel are amazingly kind and courteous hosts. Super responsive to messages and are willing to help however you need. We were able to rent a golf cart (for a great price!) through their company Buccaneer Rentals, of which two of the carts were on the premises—made rental very easy! Overall, we highly recommend.

Well taken care of & nice amenities, especially outside showers! No complaints, but unless changed remember to bring your own towels!

This property had almost everything you need. We were traveling from Oregon so we’re a little unhappy we had to buy sheets, towels just for a two night stay. This has always been provided in any short term rental we have booked, it should be required. Great location and parking. Very close to everything.

The place and parking was a bit small but it worked out for what we needed last min. Host was friendly.

This place was great. Clean. Excellent A/C, Great wifi and nice location plus awesome host family. Would recommend for any couple or small family. It’s pet friendly too!

We booked this property for a quick trip and had a great time. The property is easy to access and has an outdoor shower that was perfect for us coming off the beach. The property managers were very helpful. We saved money renting a golf cart on-site and used a ratchet strap from our truck to secure our car seat for our three-year old. We’d recommend this property and would stay here again.

Charter Room was adequately spacious for two people. The shower stall was very nice. There was plenty of silverware and dinnerware in the kitchen. We really liked the back deck for hanging wet clothes and rinsing. We really enjoyed the stay!

Stayed at the Charter Room this past weekend. Room was private, clean, and simple — which was all we needed. Communication before our stay was prompt and professional. Location was perfect, check-in was a breeze, golf cart was ready to go when we got there, and our hosts were so sweet! Enjoyed chatting with them from our respective porches while their dog, Noodles, joined us on ours for happy hour. If you’re in Ocracoke to enjoy Ocracoke and just need a quiet place to rest between outings, this is your spot! Big thanks to Ellen and Russ!

This is a great spot for couples or small families we have stayed here twice now and enjoyed it each time.

We love Ocracoke, been on and off for many years! The Charter Room had all the amenities we needed. Golf cart rental through the place was also an easy process, and we enjoyed the usage. On a quiet street just off the main area of the village. Close to everything. The rooms were very neat and the cleanliness was outstanding. Thanks for having us!
