Family get together with people travelling from Ohio and Nebraska. The house is lovely with beautiful antiques. Safe walkable neighborhood, we enjoyed the State House tour and the Lincoln home. Highly recommend this one of a kind home. Thanks for sharing it with us!
The property was wonderful! The property management was very communicative and helpful. We hosted our moms 90th birthday there and it couldn’t have been better!
The home was incredible and just as stated in the description. Ample living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms, plus many creature comforts and period decorations in every room! This historic mansion was a treasured place to live for a few days. The owners/managers were very kind and friendly, too!
Absolutely beautiful historic home. Everything was perfect and the property manager was a delight to deal with. We would highly recommend this property.
This home was beautiful and very clean. We stayed for our daughter's wedding in Springfield. It was perfect for our family and was a perfect location. The setting made for beautiful wedding pictures. Would definitely recommend this place. Loved everything about it!!
We had the entire first floor during our weekend stay. We were in town for a wedding. Gorgeous decor, large rooms, 3 TVs were great for selections, Everything was as listed online. Easy communications with host. Loved this place with all it's Victorian charm. Would definitely recommend to others.
The suite we rented was beautifully restored with numerous antiques and appointments. Very clean and large. The bathrooms were a bit far from the bedrooms but worked well and did not distract from our stay. We heard the upstairs people a couple of times, but it bad. We always had privacy and felt safe always. The house is downtown and we could have walked to several Lincoln places if weather allowed. If you like the beauty of chandeliers and solid antiques, but the ease of modern comforts, this is the place for you!
First time using VRBO and what a great experience. Excellent communication with the owner. Historic home filled with beautiful antiques. Modern kitchen with all the modern necessities. Comfortable beds. Close to all historical locations and restaurants. Would highly recommend staying here.
My oldest daughter just moved to the area. We wanted a big enough space we could all fit. The house was perfect!
Perfect place to stay & visit nearby family! Highly recommend!
My group of nine adults and one infant stayed 4 nights in the first and second level apartments of the beautiful Bressmer House. The apartments were spacious, spotless, and well-equipped for living needs including cooking meals and serving a high tea. The beds were especially wonderful, and everyone had more than enough room for all their clothing etc.. The Bressmer House is walking distance to downtown Springfield shops, restaurants, events, and historical sites. Parking is easy with entrance to both 5th and 6th streets. That is handy because these streets are one-way. We used UBER to go to the State Fair and the cost was very reasonable. The decor and ambiance of the Bressmer House is outstanding. The property transports you back in time to Lincoln’s era, but still provides the convenience of modern time amenities. I appreciated the quick response to all our questions and needs by James (owner/manager) and Tom (the groundskeeper). This was an excellent experience and I hope to return soon.
Beautiful and historic. This house has beautiful and comfortable furniture. It is walking distance to Lincoln’s house and other sites and restaurants. I hope to visit again.
Our group of five, all senior citizens, included a family of two brothers and a sister. This was a great place for our family to stay at. We were in the first day of a Route 66 roadtrip. Springfield has so much to offer as attractions and it was easy to get to them from this location. We were able to do a sit down meal as a family and then enjoy the spacious bedrooms and living area. A nice addition was the office room where one of us could do a little preparation work for our Route 66 roadtrip.
