Stayed Nov 16, 2024The property was just as pictured!! Clean and spacious. Loved that there were two levels so the “kids” could have the upstairs. We loved that the cats greeted us. Also saw huge raccoons in the backyard at night- super cool!! No complaints!

Stayed Sep 6, 2024The Bocce Ball House is very nice and well appointed. It had everything we needed in the kitchen, with nice tables outside on the patio. Josephine asked that we take off our shoes before going into the house, but we all do that at home anyway, so it wasn't a problem. I highly recommend this house for your stay in Seattle. Joanne S.

Stayed Jul 3, 2024I wanted to give our stay 5 stars overall. We selected this house because of the spaciousness and proximity. The house is spacious for sure. Lots of room to gather and mix with our family of 8 and one toddler. Josephine greeted our group and briefly showed us the place. All seemed ok until she mentioned that the bocce ball court is actually a sand pit, and that we should beware of cat feces if we play. Upon inspection it was decided that we couldn't partake of this activity due to that issue. We were also surprised to see another tenant sunning himself in the back yard of this home when we arrived. We knew that Josephine resided downstairs, but this was unexpected. He left soon after and did not return. The house and grounds were generally well-tended and clean. The neighborhood left something to be desired, with a casino and bowling alley backed up to the house and junkyard nearby. It didn't feel unsafe, however anyone wanting a picturesque location may want to search elsewhere. Being budget-conscious we were willing to overlook that aspect. As for accommodations, there are no frills here. The beds, baths and kitchen are minimally appointed. No dresser for clothes, no towel racks. The washer and dryer are full size but stacked, so I couldn't reach or read how to run a load. Be prepared to buy your own soap, sponges, etc. Josephine is a nice lady so overall we got along ok at this house, just didn't knock our socks off.

Stayed Jun 28, 2024It was a great house in a great location. Perfect size for my family of 7. The house was very clean except some of the towers and pillows had a weird smell. We enjoyed our stay except we didn’t like that we had to take out the trash and we had to wash the towels that we used prior to checking out.

Stayed Jun 6, 2024this rental was for myself, my partner, our grown daughter, my elderly mother and my brother. As you can probably guess, finding a place to stay for this diverse group that would allow folks to feel connected, have the access everything they needed AND have time/space to do their own thing when necessary was a tall order but this beautiful flat fit the bill. Our host (who stayed in a separate unit in the building) was intelligent, vibrant, full of information and tips, and very welcoming. We had everything we needed - the rooms were spacious and comfortable and there was a nice gathering space in the downstairs as well as upstairs. Did i mention that the house is beautiful! The interior is magazine-like, stylish and well-appointed but also very cozy. The side and back yards are also really nice with places to sit and grill and play bocce ball if you feel like it. The surrounding neighborhood is very walkable. there is a Safeway a few blocks away, several churches and a gas station. Best of all, there are two resident, fluffy cats who are on hand to greet you as you arrive (but who are not allowed inside!) In sum, this rental was far nicer than I anticipated and I would absolutely stay again the next time I have occasion to venture into Seattle.
