Welcoming host! Fun house layout, close walking distance to water. Great vacation home for the area!

The Boathouse in Gearhart was spacious, in a quiet neighborhood, and conveniently close to everything. We really enjoyed our time at the beach and appreciated the relaxing atmosphere. A perfect getaway spot!

Clean and quiet if a little worn around the edges. Mother in law suite very helpful.

It was not in the property description that the living area and kitchen were on the second floor and the stairs weresomewhat iffy! Two bedrooms with queen beds were on the first floor. The king bedroom which we wanted was separate from the house over the garage accessed by an outside staircase. As we are 80 and I am in need of a hip replacement, this was not a possibility. The Boathouse has some nice features. The upstairs living room is smallbut has a lot of windows. The kitchen has up to date appliances. I can't image how more than four adults could be comfortable in the living room however. In the summer the deck could be very nice and the property is surrounded by trees. The estuary is a short distance.I cannot imagine why it is not in the property descriptionthat the living area, kitchen and dining are on the 2nd floor! This would be a difficult situation for families that needed to be close to small children as well as for anyone not physically fit. The next day the property managers did try to find something else for us but there was nothing available in Gearhart in our price range sowe stayed where we were. Overall the property managers were very helpful although when we first arrived in the dark (6:00pm) we couldn't reach anyone by phone for two or three hours.:00pm and discovered the situation, we couldn't reach anyone for two or three hours.t

We had a great time. Enjoyed the serene setting and having a bedroom suite over the garage was perfect for our family. Wasn't crazy about filling out a detailed condition report at check-in. The host was responsive to my questions. We'd definitely stay there again.

Check in process was bizarre - had to fill out a very long form similar to an apartment move-in sheet - detailing each space and then text them to come pick it up during your first day. We found that disruptive and a turn off. The sauna was not working, just labeled “non-functioning”. King bed outside and upstairs above garage. So a not good set up for a family needing to be near kids — if you’re looking for a 3 bedroom with rooms in the same house, not for you. View is nice from the roof but can’t see ocean from main levels. I guess you get what you pay for here. Perfectly functional, affordable but not as clean we’d liked and not comfortable layout for us with kids. Also make sure to note there is not AC and most windows don’t open. But fan in house worked and we were cool at night. Close to town and easy to visit beaches by car. House well stocked with kitchen basics. But bring your own shampoos. Interesting VRBO, overall worked fine.

Lovely place beautiful views and amazing getaway

We needed a house with three separate rooms each with a queen or king bed and 3 separate bathrooms for all the adults. On short notice that was hard to come by. This house had good light with all the windows and nice decks including the roof. There was almost everything we needed in the kitchen to cook all meals there, including a grill and very efficient range. While the showers (2 out of 3) where a bit small/tight for taller folks, there was enough clean linens for everyone and we only missed having a blow dryer. It was quiet and relaxing and neighbors were quiet as well - just what we had hoped for. An easy 15 minute drive to both Seaside and Astoria, and also close enough to Cannon Beach. That was perfect for the friends who flew into town and had never been to Oregon before.
