This is a beautifully restored four bedroom single home. It is 3 miles (10 minutes) from the French Quarter in the safest neighborhood in the city. The house has 12 foot ceilings. There are 3 full baths. This house has all of the character of an old New Orleans home. I have Wifi, a complete kitchen and a large yard that has newly built pergola with a patio set. From the house, it is nice to watch cruise ships, river boats and other vessels traveling on the Mississippi River. Also, there is off street parking. This is the safest area in the city! Unlike New Orleans, we have plenty of police in Arabi and they do not tolerate any riff-raft coming here to commit crimes. Arabi is in St.Bernard Parish(county). My wife and I love New Orleans. We have our favorite restaurants and places to go in New Orleans, but we love coming back to our house in St. Bernard Parish to safely sleep at night with peace of mind.

The house was nice and in a good neighborhood. They didn’t supply you with to many extras. We had to buy paper towels and ran out of toilet paper and asked us to start a load of laundry before we left but there was no detergent. Other than that it was a nice stay for us.
Property was as nice as advertised
Worked well for our family. They just put in a brand new pool, unfortunately we did not have time to use it .
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is spacious and clean. We took walks around the neighborhood and felt completely safe. The river is just steps away. Arabi has a market and antique shops just around the corner that we enjoyed. It was roughly a 15 min Uber ride to the French Quarter. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. There is a pool construction/demolition job in process in the yard which is a bit of an eyesore in the yard, but didn’t detract from the charm of the inside of the home. There is also space to park inside the gate and off the road which was a plus!
We celebrated our friend's 30th birthday and New Years in New Orleans and stayed at this property for the occasion. We loved the vibe/antique aspects of the house. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and it was fun to see families out on New Year's Eve having fun with small fireworks. There was a grocery store that was close enough for us to walk (about 1/2 mile) and we were also close to the water. We definitely heard the boats & stuff all the time which was comforting to us since we are from the Oregon Coast. Uber rides added up fast to get to things but I don't know if I would want to drive a rental car on those roads so it was probably the best option for us. Overall, we were very comfortable and loved the experiences we had.
The house was good for the price. We had fun, there.
We stayed with a group of 8 people. The house was beautiful and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The owner was quick to respond with any questions we had and very accommodating. It was overall a wonderful stay and we would rent again if ever in the area.
This rental was perfect. The owner was super friendly, accommodating, and easy to reach. We were just a very short walk from the edge of the Mississippi river where we had the most amazing views! This was definitely a perfect place for our little getaway. It was quiet and safe and the house had so much charm. We would definitely rent this property again!
This property worked perfect for our family who was in town for the college football game. Quiet neighborhood and very easy access to the French Quarter and the Superdome. Highly recommended.
We stayed here during Mardi Gras. The house was exactly as described and we loved it. Cute quiet neighborhood. The house was adorable to all the girls in the group as well ?. No issue when we stayed here. Everything worked well!
Lovely older home in a very nice neighborhood. We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful city!
Lots of space for friends to gather. Host was very accommodating and responsive. Only drawback was lack of closet space.
I came to NOLA for my wedding and this home was a perfect accommodation for my entire stay and friends. It is a beautiful home in a safe, cute and quiet neighborhood. I had one little issue and the host quickly solved it. I'll come back again to stay here most definitely especially because of how spacious it was.
The house was beautiful and perfect for all 5 of us. The process was easy all the way from booking with Larry to checking out. He was quick to respond with any questions you might have! And only 15 mins from down town!
The good: owner is very accommodating with check-in and checkout times. Space is big enough for 8 adults. Bathrooms and kitchens were pretty modern and clean. Neighborhood was quite. The bad: every door and window is at least 100 years old. One inch gaps under under and on the sides of the doors. Old locks, that looks like a good kick can open the doors. Multiple water bugs found (dead and alive) throughout our stay. Floors have several holes and gaps throughout the house, which allows you to see outside. I was putting shoes on top of as many holes as I can to prevent bugs from crawling in. A clump of hair was found in one of the beds, which ensures us sheets weren't changed between stays. Water damage, throughout the house, even stains on curtains. One bed was broken and instead of getting a new one he is holding it up with a brick. All in all, I can't believe this place is able to be rented. It is literally falling apart. As you walk thru the house, you feel like one wrong step and you will fall thru the floor to the outside. Would never recommend this property. It should be shut down and repaired.
Spacious, Historical Home in an incredibly safe neighborhood. Sleeps 8 very comfortably. Plenty of bathroom space. 1 block from Mississippi River. We rented bikes and enjoyed the cute houses around town. Neighbors were friendly. Coffee down the street. So close to everything touristy that we did. We WILL stay here again, no question. Turns out my family from Chalmette knows host and his family and my relatives confirmed that this family is well known in the community and are good folks.
Thanks Larry, everything was wonderful. The backyard was my favorite place to hang out. great neighborhood, local bar in walking distance and very friendly.
