Superb, quiet property with private swimming pool (no neighbors) + various games

This villa has everything you could want in a great location. Very spacious, beautifully appointed. Overall delightful little oasis, highly recommend.

2 families, 4 adults, 1 teen & 2 children. What a villa, the pictures do not do this property its true justice. Stunning! Well equipped with everything listed +much more, absolutely a home away from home. The town is a short drive away, again well equipped with the usual shops/bars & restaurants. Surrounding area is well within driving distance too.. Words cannot describe how great this place is, we look forward to returning. Thank for allowing us to holiday here.. The Emond’s

La Bastide has to be one of the best Villas we have ever hired! Beautiful setting, the views are amazing, the pool and outdoor areas are superb, lots of shade cover for those who want it. The kitchen is extremely well equipped which was great because none of us wanted to eat out in the evenings, best place to be was La Bastide !

This home is a gorgeous property. It has everything. So much thought has gone into it by the owners. The pictures do not do it justice. It is just simply beautiful. We loved the outdoor terrace - Actually there were at least three but we love the one that had the view of the mountains. We sat there late into the evenings. Communications with the host were always quick and accurate. Margarita who met us to check in and to check out is a delight. The pool is much larger than it looks in the picture and quite deep. The children loved it. The owners must be real food people. There is every gadget and many many good plates and glasses. It was wonderful to make our dinner there. There are two towns nearby with good markets. We highly recommend La Bastide

The villa is great. It is very secluded, but that is exactly what we were looking for. Both the inside and outside space is excellent and it is very well equipped. The villa manager, Margarita, lives close by and was lovely and easy to deal with. There was a minor issue on our first day, where there were no duvets or blankets put out for the beds. No problem in July or August, but needed in late October. This was rectified on our second day, so all was then well. The major problem was the pool heating. We discussed this with the villa owner when booking, because this was our number one priority when looking for a villa for late October, as we have a disabled son who needs warmer water. We agreed the heating cost and the owner confirmed that the pool would be heated prior to our arrival. He said as long as we kept the cover on at night, it should maintain heat for our stay. When we arrived the pool was cool and there was no cover on it. I had to go and find the cover, which was being stored in the parking area, pull it around to the pool, clean it (as it was covered in mud) and then put it over the pool, to try and get the pool temperature up. When I went to check the temperature the next day, I found that the electrics had tripped and it was not being heated, nor filtered. I reset the breaker, but this happened over and over again. After three days we gave up trying and accepted that we would not be able to use the pool. The pool man did attend on our 4th day, but didn't seem to be able to fix the problem, albeit it would have been too late to get the pool up to the desired temperature in time anyway. We weren't charged for the pool heating in the end, but we paid a significant amount more for this villa than we would have done for something similar with an unheated pool, so it was very disappointing. Hence the 3* rating. Had the pool heating worked, it would have been 5*.

I just had a wonderfull time at this villa. Travelled with 3 generations which this house was perfect for. Lost of space. The Best is the outdoor space with a lovely pool area with lots of seatingarea in the shade. Perfect for watching the Kids swim :) I would definetly recommend this place and love to go myself again. We stayed for 12 days, total of 9 People, age 2-66years. Also lots to do in the area. Car recommended

Family holiday with 5 children ranging between 1-13years old who all loved it there. Villa was spacious, clean and had great outdoor areas. Pool was great size which the children loved playing in all day and right next to the pool there was a shaded area which was great for the baby whilst being able to keep an eye on the other children in the pool. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and also had a good size double fridge freezer. The villa also had a high chair and cot for the baby. And plastic plates, bowls and cup for the younger children. Apart from the air conditioning units not working in 3 of the bedrooms and being told the technician was coming to fix them but never turned up, we had a great family holiday thank you.

We stayed two wonderful weeks at La Bastide in July 2018 with two families (five kids age 4 - 16). The finca was exactly as described and as you could see in the pictures. It was in an outstanding condition, clean and perfectly equipped. The lovely pool has a small area with steps for our smallest one and deeper parts (up to 170cm) for adults. There are more than sufficient deckchairs, an outdoor showering and even water polo goals! We loved the night-time illumination and the clean and comfy pool area. As described, there are a lot of entertainment gadgets, like darts, table-tennis, boules, table soccer, games, and more. The lounge area is perfect for a morning coffee with a nice mountain view, as well as the hammock. Living room is spacious and nicely decorated, although we really didn't use it (just for the World Cup final ;-) The kitchen was awesome, not only due to it's size but also the equipment. A large gas stove, American Fridge, oven, dishwasher, coffee and nespresso machine, juice extractor, just more than you really need. Additionally, there is an outside kitchen area with the huge grill, working space to prepare meals and even a sink and a second fridge. It was amazing to take fresh fish out of the fridge, prepare and put it under the grill without any need to go inside. Outside eating area and another bar-like table on the deck with lots of chairs were also perfect for enjoying ourselves. Beds are comfy, ac is working well - in addition to ceiling fans in nearly every room (and on the deck!). Bath rooms are clean and functional with two larger and one smaller one. Although the finca is situated in a quiet and hilly area, shopping options are close by (10 min to Alhaurin, 20-25 min to Malaga). The premises are fenced in with an automatic gateway and huge space . The owner is very friendly and extremely responsive. His supporting personnel on-site is attentive and takes a look once a week (mainly to take care of the pool, but also anything else). This has been a superb experience and we all would love to come back to this quiet, clean and well maintained home.
