When we arrived at the property, I saw that our bed-sheets were dirty and stained, there were beer bottle caps on the floor outside near the hot tub/pool and the floors were not clean in the bathrooms. I called for new sheets and they left a package at the door with new washed sheets that I had to put on the bed myself. Also, only 2 of the bathrooms came with toilet paper (we had to go by that as well as soap to wash our hands in the bathrooms...). They didn't even provide coffee or filters. Now this is doable, but we didn't arrive until 1am (late flight) so we couldn't even wash our hands after using the restrooms when we arrived since there wasn't soap and the powder rooms didn't have towels (seriously people!). Some basic care about making our stay comfortable would have been greatly appreciated. Also, we booked this property because they had a heated pool...except nobody told us or posted online that the pool closed mid October (we arrived October 18th) - that was a HUGE disappointment. I complained and was told by the property management company to try and get something from VRBO instead of them offering some compensation. I will never, ever rent from this property management company again or stay at this house for the price we paid. The beach was amazing and views were breathtaking which helped.
I must say we had a great time on our vacation this week. The weather couldn't have been better. The accommodations at Sunswept were perfect for all 9 of us. The few little discrepancies we experienced were handled quickly by the staff at Village Realty compl with follow up phone calls to make sure everything was taken care of and to keep updated and informed.
The Pros: The kitchen is well stocked with needed items. Has very large pantry. Good Location. Oceanfront with a pool. Cons: Only 3 of the 7 bedrooms had TV's. with multiple families it makes it harder to select bedrooms. Yes I know you are on vacation and spending time on the beach, but at night when everyone retreats to their own space it is nice to be able to relax and watch television. The walk way to the beach is one of the reasons I chose this house, unfortunately half of the walkway to the beach is totally covered in sand so my elderly parents could not manage the walk to the beach and back. Overall this was a nice home centrally located.
When we arrived at the home, everything was clean and tidy. The two concerns I had were handled almost instantly through the app and fix it forms. The gentleman on Sunday evening that fixed the outdoor shower was very kind and courteous. We did not see the pool man on Monday as we were all gone, but the pool was filtering properly and was sparkling clean when we arrived back. Village realty was on top of my concerns. We have loved the location of this home. There is plenty of parking for our 6 vehicles. There were plenty of outdoor chairs and tables. Thank you village realty team for helping me choose this location and for your wonderful tentiviveness to all my concerns throughout the year and during our stay
We stayed with 4 families and had plenty of room. Steps to ocean, pool was large enough, decks were great, although some of the decking was rough and needs repair. Hot tub was great! Patio furniture was broken and only a few chairs useable. Inside of house was very comfy, kitchen a bit small but we spent majority of time outside when it wasn't raining, not in the kitchen! All in all a great place!
Was very disappointed with washer and dryer. They both did not work well. Was pointless to even wash the clothes. I was depending on washing clothes for my family because we had been traveling prior to our stay in OBX. Also , trash was not picked up on designated day and there were flies everywhere.
NHB2 was a great house for us. We came with 3 Families, 14 people in total. There was plenty of space for all of us (inside and out). The house was clean and exactly as described. It was right on the beach and the deck overlooked the ocean. We even saw dolphins which was an unexpected surprise! Village realty was extremely responsive with any issues we had. Thank you for a great vacation. We could definitely stay here again! Jill
Pros: Great location on the beach! Plenty of parking. Only a few minutes from Food Lion. Multiple fridges to store all our bacon, beer, and wine (gotta have priorities)! Heated pool came in handy when strong currents post-Hurricane Hermine rendered the ocean off limits for a few days. Kitchen was well stocked with multiple blenders, toasters, and LARGE mixing bowls, pots, and pans. Crucial large pantry. Bunk bed is actually a larger double instead of pyramid. Plenty of curbside trash bins Cons: Kitchen was a bit cramped - no one could enter/leave when the fridge was open. No sink disposal. Freestanding icemaker on top floor was broken - had to grab ice from icemaker on bottom floor. All deck access doors facing the ocean were hard to open - might've been due to Hurricane Hermine blasting the house with salt water and sand. Only one curbside recycling bin Overall: Despite the minor inconveniences, our group had a fab time. We love to cook, however, so we'll rent a house w/ a larger kitchen next year
