Great property for a family vacation !!
Beautiful island property, we had some older folks with us and the load in to the cottage property and load out was difficult for them, but once at the island the property was amazing, two docks, so many rooms and guest cottages. Air conditioning was a blessing and the wifi worked great. The only minor issue was that the guest houses could use window Air conditioners, the extreme heat in mid July rendered the guest cottages redundant as no one could sleep in them in the heat, but lots of room in the main cottage.
Amazing location. The property was very well kept . Unbelievable sunsets! Highly recommend for anyone, small or large group. Lots of privacy. Property manager was an excellent communicator.
Great amenities to enjoy the lake with many different vantage points on the property all times of day and any kind of weather. A great place for a group of friends or family!
We have just returned from a 9/10 day vacation on Sunset Island... and it was everything we had hoped it would be! The cottage and island is all that is indicated in the advertised listing... even better! The beauty and peacefulness of the location is priceless. We were a family of 16 people plus infant, comprising of 6 independent units... and there was adequate accommodations and space to allow us to have our privacy and quiet time. The kitchen has everything you could want or need to prepare dinners for a large group. It was fantastic to have two fridges/freezers and a large pantry. We arrived and the cottages and cabin were clean and ready for us to make it our home. Every room (with the exception of the bunk room) has a view and patio doors out to the ample decks and boardwalks. The hot tub was thoroughly enjoyed... hot chocolate and sunsets! Our stay was in September and it was unusually chilly~ but that did not hinder our enjoyment of the lake, fishing, boating and water sports! The owner and his management team are lovely and wonderful at communicating. We had some questions and within hours (felt like minutes) a staff member came to check on our concern. This is a cottage home on an island... so you have to adapt your expectations a little to water pressure/hot water... a small adjustment for such a great experience. Upon our departure, the kids and adults were all in discussion about when we could plan our return! Thank You Mark and Kaitlyn for providing us with a wonderful family vacation! We wish you continued success!
We just returned from a 9 night stay at Sunset Island... it exceeded our expectations completely! We were a large family of 16 people plus infant, encompassing of 6 individual households- and a variety of ages from baby to 70. The island accommodations were perfect, allowing everyone to have their own private space. The main cabin has a cozy living area and a beautiful dining room that allowed for lingering conversations and enjoyable meals. The lake and surrounding area is gorgeous... perfect for fishing, kayaking (provided) and all motorized water sports. The hot tub is a wonderful amenity, nothing more decadent than enjoying a hot chocolate and the sunset from the hot tub and multiple deck areas. Every room has a lovely view and patio doors (with the exception of the bunk room). It is wonderful to have boardwalks and decks connecting the cabins. The outdoor furnishings are perfect for lazy days enjoying the sunshine and lake. The kitchen is perfectly outfitted with everything you could need for meal preparation. It is awesome that there are two fridges/freezers and a pantry. We did not need to leave the island once- nor did we want to! The owner and his management team are great to work with. Super communication and very accommodating with our requests and concerns. We are already planning our return!
Our family stayed at Sunset Island, what an amazing place! The layout of the buildings on this island allow guests to have their own space in their private cabins, which have all been recently renovated. We especially enjoyed the outdoor shower... it was amazing to look overhead and watch a pair of bald eagles as we showered! The dining room in the main cabin can accommodate everyone at mealtime. The large kitchen has lots of counter space, two full size fridges with freezers, dishwasher, cooktop, oven, and microwave. There is a BBQ and a hot tub on the deck overlooking the water as well. We really enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the water to explore the area around the island, and taking our boat out fishing! The hosts were very gracious and helpful - thanks Kaitlyn for sharing your beautiful island with us and look forward to our next stay! -Kevin K.
