Sunset Cottage on Lake Pistakee

Great place with everything we needed. Wonderful deck to take in the lake view and sip a drink and eat. Nice shower and bathroom. Very clean and would definitely come back. One thing, the air bed has a leak and flattens out after a few hours. Otherwise,a perfect getaway!!

We had a wonderful stay at the house for a few days on the lake with friends. The yard is spacious and perfect for games, and we especially enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings. The back patio was a great spot to relax and take in the beautiful lake views. The kitchen was stocked, though it could benefit from updated cookware, dishes, and utensils. The driveway is quite steep, so just something to keep in mind, especially when arriving after dark. Overall, it was a great place to stay and we really enjoyed our time there.

Was a nice little place

We came to town for a family wedding and this provided the perfect place to spend time with family the next day. We all had fun playing in the large yard, fishing and sitting by the fire pit.

Overall, this is a great place! The check-in process was super easy, the owner is fantastic and very easy to communicate with, very friendly and the property is as it was described! Very neat and clean - had all the amenities we needed! Really nice house!!! It wasn’t a great fit for us though: we had our boat and arrived too late to launch it on day 1, so we were told parking at the top of the drive would be fine. And it technically was, trouble was it was blocked in by so many cars the next morning, it took us over an hour to wiggle it out. Lost a lot of fishing time. The bar/restaurant next door was VERY loud on Friday night. keeping everyone awake loud, but Saturday it was just noisy - no biggie - so it may have been a special thing the Friday night - don’t know for sure. The place is great though! It really is - we just wouldn’t bring our boat here again unless we can get there early enough to get it into the water when we first get there. And would bring earplugs on a Friday night for everyone!

everything was fine but 2 fishing rods, a chair and a fishing net were stolen

The pictures and description online make no mention of the restaurant/bar next door, that played very loud music until 3am the Friday night of our arrival. 6 people in their 20's, patrons of the establishment called Famous Freddies, were drinking and yelling next to our parked car, which was 10 feet away from my bedroom window, at 1am. Next morning the property manager Jessica informed that yes, but they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We were there for 1 week, so that was little relief. I also asked her prior to our arrival if the quality of the lake water was high enough to make it safe to swim in the lake. Her response was many poeple do it. The lake water was a thick green pea soup texture and rotten smell, loaded with large geese excrements floating around. A dozen of these large and loud geese stayed in the lawn area between the house and the lake, permanently, making it impossible to enjoy the outside of the property. The saucepans provided in the kitchen were dirty and rusted. This place is only good for teenagers wanting to party with the people next door. It ruined our vacation.

I have rented this property to propose to my girlfriend. The host Jessica was super welcoming, I talked to her about decorations and the stuff that I want to set up and she completely fine with it, and made it easy for me for the entire process and stay. The place looks dreamy and my proposal was perfect, I couldn't be anymore happier about. The property itself is so amazing, beautiful, quite, by the water, and you have tons of spaces to be at in the property. The views are absolutely amazing, and there's a nice restaurant right next door, and not to mention that the owner will recommend the places that you can go to. At the end the whole experience was 10/10 and I would highly recommend this property and the host will make your stay easy and memorable.
