Stayed Oct 9, 2025Everything we needed was included, as well as several things we hadn't thought of (the guitar!). Views were lovely and the whole family were delighted with the home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sunrise Cove and will remember our trip for years to come!

Stayed Sep 8, 2025The cabin was beautiful and the view amazing. We enjoyed fishing (caught no fish) the lake has beautiful views. The house was equipped with every kitchen item we needed. Nice screened in porch for outside dinning. The only down side for this cabin are the steps. There’s 52 steps from parking to the cabin. The. 48 from cabin to the water. We had 4 quest over 60 and it was a struggle, I had back surgery last October and my husband had open heart surgery in Dec. neither of us were in the physical condition to climb that many steps. We did have a wonderful time there. Everything else was great.

Stayed Sep 12, 2025Great House with fabulous views of Lake Fontana! Very nice recent updates. Kitchen and grill nicely appointed. Bathrooms and bedrooms were perfect for our 2 adult couples. The driveway is about 1000' of uneven gravel. Very difficult passage for our sportscar. There are 43 steps down from the parking area to the house. They would be a challenge for anyone with impaired mobility.

Stayed Jul 7, 2025Home is clean but there were issues with the listing which have since been corrected (and some that still are not!). More specifically (and yes, I saved a copy of the webpage with the original description), we received a note 1 week before arrival informing us that we could not park our trailer at the home (new bullet point #5), second we were quite surprised at the presence of the owners boat being there as again that was not stated when we booked (and it's pretty hard to tie a boat up at the front of the dock Yonder when their bow is sticking past 2-3 feet, I suggest you revise that), third the poorly described directions which are pretty much a choose your own adventure as someone has put a white sign with an arrow in front of the large tree/road sign pointing west towards the cemetery which says Lakeview Drive which you definitely do not want to take as it leads to a washed out dirt two track, fourth the road is really a gravel two-track with a hill on one side and the lake on the other and there is no way you are parking a full-size vehicle; as someone who has rented cabins in Gatlingburg and other areas this is not unfamiliar but at least described, fifth the WiFi was out of service with a stated time of resolution on the day before checkout hence the WiFi TV being pretty useless as well as having no other means of communication as you will have zero cell service. Lastly, the cove itself was frankly loud and not peaceful.

Stayed Jul 20, 2025The owner parks his boat in the only accessible spot at the dock. When we complained, we were told to park on the other side - the side with the large mounted plastic ladder. But you wouldn't know that because the pictures they use in this advertisement shows an open and unobstructed dock with no ladder mounted. The listing was updated since we complained to say the owner leaves their boat, but the picture is still there Our whole trip was supposed to be us using that dock for fishing and recreation, we had to change all our plans. The picture provided is basically the whole house, you will only be staying in the top half, the bottom half is locked up and inaccessible. There were drain flies in the master bathroom.

Stayed Jul 14, 2025The house was very nice, clean, cutely decorated, peaceful view of the lake, well stocked with necessities, and met all of our needs as a family. The lake itself was beautiful, serene and very quiet…authentic and untouched. Really felt connected with nature. Although we didn’t use, the kayaks were a nice bonus. We loved having the private dock and direct lake access. However, if bringing a personal boat like we did, the roads down to the property are steep and narrow with very limited space to turn around if pulling a trailer. This was an initial challenge and we got it worked out but having that information upfront would have been good to know to plan ahead on the way in. The kids had fun on the rope swing and jumping rock we found on the lake, and exploring Hazel Creek. Also an easy drive over to Bryson City or Nantahala Outdoor Center. Overall, we enjoyed our week at this cozy and cool lake house!

Stayed Jul 1, 2025My husband and I and our 2 adult children recently stayed a week at peak season.Pros: kudos to the cleaning crew- every corner of the house was spotless! Beautiful home with airy open floor plan, a sun deck, shaded deck, porch, and screened porch- everyone found their favorite spot. House was well-equipped and we lacked for nothing. Bonus that there were kayaks, floats, and pdfs to use- a nice feature that made our trip memorable! My husband is in his sixties with a bad knee, but he never complained about the stairs. If you live in a 2 story home, you will have little issue with the stairs, though the top section has odd spacing which might be difficult if you have mobility issues. I don’t think there is always a railing. There is a community dock just past the house. The boat traffic was fairly minimal and they observed the no wake zone and were friendly and fun to watch.Cautions: We would have liked better directions. Once you get to the cemetery at Lake View Drive, don’t follow the sign up the hill. You want the lower gravel road that feels more like a left fork in the road. If you are a reader, bring your own books. We stayed the week of 4th of July. There is an annual party at the end of the cove that culminated with loud activity. I was dismayed at first, but we ended up enjoying it. If you want a quieter stay, you might want to avoid holiday weekends. We look forward to returning!!

Stayed May 19, 2025Overall the trip was amazing. The home was perfect. Cooking wise had everything i needed even some extra seasonings. Id say my only complaint was the fridge and freezer. Even on day 5 the items in the freezer didnt freeze up well and the drinks never got COLD. But maybe im jusr spoiled by my home fridge. And the stairs from parking to house is a bit challenging if you have alot of stuff and may not be in shape like my self. Home was beautiful. Amd felt like home.

Stayed May 12, 2025We celebrated our 15th anniversary with family. The home was perfect for our group of 4. The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities, the beds were comfortable, and the home was very clean. We had a workout with all the stairs from parking to home and home to dock (about 100 steps total) but it was well worth it. We will definitely have to revisit!

Stayed Aug 23, 2024The house was great, as advertised, and perfect for a small family weekend getaway. The only negative was the constant boat traffic through the narrowing in front of the house. Many observed the no-wake consideration but others leaving the busy little dock next door seemed to try be as loud, and create as much wake, as possible.
