Love the house but there wasn't actually view of lake from the house and the bugs were terrible you couldn't sit on porch very long without getting bite by mosquito.
Very pretty setting. Lovely walk to the lake. Serenity is a good name for the property. We weren’t able to use the WiFi password given us and the satellite quit on the final night.
This is a wonderful home, very well appointed and comfortable in a heavily wooded and private location. Loved the home, 9 out of 10! The dock and boat access, however, are poor and we’d rate it 2/10. The dock is about a 5 min walk through the woods and is located in a very shallow, mucky, thick (understatement) with lake weeds, lily pads, algae, slime, and very narrow boat channel access that is manually cleared. It was growing back in halfway into our stay. If you are not an experienced boat operator, this would be a very difficult area to navigate. My prop always needed to be cleared of weeds coming and going. Just wanted to make this clear for everyone as it is not clear in the property description.
Very clean , well maintained , a+ Will save for future trips for shore
This house is immaculate and a gorgeous private setting. Every amenity you'd want or need could be found. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'd need! Linens and bedding are abundant! We were disappointed in the actual lake setting as the lake can't be seen from the house and shallow water is an understatement. Do not plan on swimming or docking a boat or watercraft at this house! We weren't even brave enough to try the canoe or kayak for fear of getting banked in the middle of the mud surrounding the dock. Also, the dock needs repair after what appears to be a firework mishap. Bring a small cooler to take to the dock and enjoy the serenity and peaceful surroundings! A public boat ramp is located 10 minutes away on Chain of Lakes Road and Eagle Waters Resort is a 5 minute walk. We ate at the resort several times - great food, great setting and terrific hospitality! The chain of lakes is a wonderful area and this house is a convenient & private setting for sure!
The house had lots of room with two bedrooms on the upper floor, master on the main and another in the finished basement. All were well appointed and bathrooms on each floor were spacious as well. There is no bathtub, as an FYI. I was concerned upon entering that the floors were very dirty, and we had small children, so I proceeded to begin sweeping only to find there was no dustpan. That was disappointing, but I made it work. Based on the listing and the lack of pictures of the dock, I assumed we wouldn't be able to swim from it. I was right. The water is completely filled with lily pads and other matter. Also the dock had a huge burn hole at the end possibly from a fire pit, that made it unsafe to take the kids all the way on. We did not canoe or kayak, but both looked very nice. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans. However no garbage bags, foil, saran wrap, salt, pepper, anything. I'm not sure if that's standard, but just so the next renter is prepared. Location was great, close enough to things in town, but far enough away to be secluded. Check out Silver Lake Beach to swim, it was great for the different ages in our group.
