Sugar Sand Retreat – 30A Home, Updated, STEPS to the Beach w/ Private Pool!

I’ve stayed at this place before. That’s why I was looking forward to coming back. Obviously there were some changes. The alarms on the door. I understand the need for that, however, I could tell when we arrived that it had been taken for a while and was needing to be aired out and we were unable to do so. And it was a beautiful week so that was unfortunate. Also, I understand that this property is for sale and it’s in need of repair. There was safety hazards on the outside patio. A hose strong to the pool as a tripping hazard. The bricks stepping down also were loose and could easily break off. The rugs were dish shoveled. Could wind have caused this yes. However, knowing that we were coming, the cleaning service could’ve straightened this. None of the outside furniture had all of the cushions on them. A lot we’re missing it. The stairs going up to the overlook recovered and some type of scat and that was unfortunate. Are there wild animals guess. But they definitely could’ve been cleared. No when we did arrive, there was instant communication, they let us know that there was in fact, a coffee maker, etc. However, after that, communication stopped. Also, I’ve tried to get in communication with you guys with the difference in price. You had quoted me one price and blue swells had quoted me a different price. So that did not match. All in all, we made the most of our week there. I don’t think I’ll be working with Blue Swells again.

The good… The layout of the home is nice with lots of open area for conversation. The pool is nice and private. The beds are overall comfortable. There were ample and nice towels.The not so good… While it is about a block walk to the beach, most of the beach in the area is private and signs are up very early in the morning and people are patrolling. It shooting you away from the beach. There is one stretch of private beach about 50 yards away. That becomes very crowded very early in the day. This is the case pretty much all along 30 a. We had to get up at 6 AM to save a spot near the shore. The kitchen in the home has minimal cooking supplies. I felt a little like camping, but we figured it out! we had to keep re-washing plates and cups to have them for the next meal.

The unit did not have working air conditioning. The rugs were filthy. Master bathroom had particles in the toilet. On day two, two me were attempting to enter the unit. We found out that they were working who had been given a code. The workers said that they were not aware that there were guests on the property and no one had contacted them to reschedule.

Canceled our rental the day before as we were driving down. Refund has been a struggle

We stayed at this house last year, and just like this year, it was fantastic. We hope to be able to come back next year. The house is always clean,and the neighborhood very quiet and located close to the beach. The only thing I would recommend is getting pots and pans for the kitchen to cook in. We had to end up buying a set for cooking.

Overall the property was nice, needed more basic kitchen essentials like pots and pans. Outside of that we would stay again.

All three bedrooms had bed linens that were paper thin even with the air not on. We all shivered each night and there were no blankets additional comforters or anything to be had in the entire home.The patio furniture had cushions that were mildew and ill fitted to all of the furniture. Upon arrival, the Wi-Fi and none of the TVs worked. Being that we work remote the Wi-Fi was a necessity and we had to go work at a coffee shop for the entire first day until they could get a repair person to come out..The overall property was nice enough. The location was great and the pool was good.We have stayed in 12 other rental properties in this area of 30A and this was definitely our least favorite
