This house showcases its unique expression and mood as soon as you drive up. Once inside, you will marvel at the details of a clever, ultra-modern design. It incorporates all the amenities and comforts you need to relax, cook, eat, bathe, and sleep. Endless windows reveal views of the quintessential, dense, magical, Oregon forest. Few minutes walk to the gorgeous beach. This place is truly like no other.
If you prefer the cool shadows of the deep forest, this architects dream is nestled back in a nest of big trees, but you can hear the surfs drone on beyond them. A very private quiet place, perfect for rest and recuperation. This was the cleanest home I've ever rented. The floor heat wasn't working but the portable heaters worked out. One suggestion would be to improve the lumpy soft beds. Overall a wonderful place and surrounding area.
Loved the unique modern design and peace and quiet of being in a forest. Close to the beach!
As other reviewers have indicated the location is lovely - it was fantastic to wake up and see the trees all around. The kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of dishes. The challenges were that the first night we were fairly cold. The listing says that if you want it warmer, use a space heater, but it didn't say that you should bring your own space heater. The extra blankets all seemed to be wool, and I'm allergic to wool. The next night was warmer inside. I'm not sure the reason, but it was frustrating to not be able to control the temperature at all (set to 66 and not to be adjusted). Also the glass/wood barn doors are lovely, but we were asked to keep them closed, and they require more effort than a normal door. So it felt like a bit of work to travel from the bedroom to the living area. Third, and this is minor, I really prefer if there is notice that we shouldn't wear shoes in the house before arriving so I can bring some indoor shoes with me. Not everyone has the ability to go shoeless. And lastly, I think we have decided not to book with Vacasa in the future - it is much nicer to have a real person who knows the house. We ended up leaving early because we decided it would be more comfortable at home. But....there are lots of folks for whom these things would not be problems. I just wish I had known before booking.
Our family enjoyed our stay at this modern home tucked in the woods. We enjoyed the views from every window out into the woods. Sitting on the deck in the morning gave us the feeling of being in the tree tops. The steam shower was amazing. The one negative was the comfort of the double bed in the main bedroom. It was lumpy and felt U shaped. Ended up sleeping on the couch instead.
This house was beautiful and a perfect respite to de stress. The amenities were top notch, the forest surrounding it were magical, and the walk to the beach was not very far.
The design and architechture of the house is just beautiful and unique. We loved being in the woods just a few blocks from the ocean and using the steam shower with the windows to the trees. The house is nicely equipped with kitchen supplies, games, bath towels, games, etc. A few things that would be nice to have would have been more than 3 wine glasses and some beach towels and chairs to use while staying in the home. I would hesitate to book another home with Vacasa. I did have occassion to reach out to them, once waiting 3 weeks for them to get back to me after me emailing several times. It concerns me that in an emergency or real issue with a rental, it would not be addressed in a timely manner.
The architecture of Coleman Creek House is amazing. We loved the natural light and views in practically every direction. Listening to the songbirds in the nearby trees was wonderful. If you like a firm mattress, you'll be fine...otherwise it feels pretty stiff. The only other thing we wished for were screened windows that opened for fresh air (and to hear the ocean!).
The property is absolutely gorgeous, but seriously- the beds were painful. I almost slept on the couch instead.
This is probably the coolest place we have ever stayed. It feels like you really are nestled within the trees with windows everywhere. Just 5 blocks from the beach and not far from Tillamook, this is definitely 5 star!
