Stylish, clean&cozy new 2 bedroom guest suite

Clean, good location and friendly management.

Basement guest suite below extremely rude people. Folks were walking heavily, scraping chairs, opening and closing cupboards, taking loudly until after midnight. They were also cooking late and the odors were drifting down to our suite, and it was very unpleasant. They also kept going outside and causing the outside lights to go on, which was very disruptive when trying to sleep after a long day of travel and an early wake up the next day. There is a unit or door next to the basement suite that someone accessed after midnight. The door was squeaky and loud. The laundry room attached to this other suite, and didn’t have a way to lock from our suite, which made my daughter and I uncomfortable. The photos also made it look like the back yard was an inviting place to sit and eat, but it was overgrown and weedy, and the table wasn’t in good shape. The back porch highlighted in the photos is part of the main house and not accessible to guests. The moldings in the bathroom were dirty and gross, which gave the impression that the unit is not being thoroughly cleaned. Both of the beds had crumbs or something grainy in them. We reserved the suite for a week and left after the first night. The owner said the people upstairs would be quiet, but after a terrible night of sleep, they were up banging around, stomping across the floor and shouting at 5:30 am until about 6:15am. We got up, packed, and left. I asked for a partial refund and was denied.

While the check-in process was fairly okay, almost everything else was sideways. In summary, this was a hugely untidy basement suite. The fridge, stove fan, bathroom all looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages. We had to wipe down the entire living, dining and kitchen area. The sofa in the living room had a broken leg on the left side so we had to sit more towards the right side. One or two of the dinning chairs was very fragile. The kitchen lacked bowls, towels, and lots more. There was only one old kitchen towel. When we brought this up we were told that there are kitchen tissues instead - clearly suggesting that there was not going to be accommodations for how differently people live. The hood was dirty and clogged, and oven trays were an eyesore. The fridge handle was wobbly and the top very dirty. The bathroom had a broken toilet seat, the bathroom fan was clogged and all brown (literally ?). There were 4 of us, and provision was made only for 4 towels, one of which was torn. Although there was sufficient hand towels. The bedroom was a different story - I sincerely doubt that the bed sheets, pillow cases and duvet were washed. The bed sheet looked old and must have been in use for many years. The wool on the sheets was worn out and we had to pick out hair from it - we had to turn the sheets inside out to sleep; same with the duvet, picked out hair before we could use it. Although the rooms were fairly generous in size, the bad experience was too overwhelming.

Hosts were responsive and friendly. Apartment had everything one would need. Beds comfortable which is important to me. Would stay again.

The place really did justice to the description put in the site- it was stylish, cozy, and a very convenient location. The room was well lit and it was spotless! There were complimentary hot beverages as well, which our group deeply appreciate because we forgot to bring some for the trip.. Utensils and cookwares were available as well, feels just like home honestly. Didn't had any complications upon accessing the property and there was a parking spot intended for our vehicle. As for the host, Arun was very accommodating and he made sure we're comfortable and got everything we need. Will definitely book again when we get to travel back to Abbotsford or around BC. Thanks a lot! Super satisfied!
