The house was amazing! We spent Christmas there and they cooked us food and took great care of us! A wonderful house in Quito
The property was absolutely beautiful. Couldn't ask for a better location. I loved staying at the historic location. Our rooms were spacious and the place beautiful. Loved the entire villa.
We had high expectations based on the previous reviews of this property but we were blown away with this perfect house. It is huge and very well appointed. Carmen the housekeeper was delightful and the host/owner answered every question quickly. He even steered us to an amazing day trip guide via someone he knows who guides in Quito. Ivan Lopez ( [email protected]) organized three day long excursions for us to Otavalo, Mindo Cloud Forest, and Quilotoa Lake, and we fell in love with his knowledge and enthusiasm for Ecuador. This is an exquisite property.
This place is like magic. The home is astonishing, location is perfect. The housekeepers are so generous and lovely. They had breakfast for us every day, got groceries, handled transportation, cooked for us and for our friends who weren’t even staying there. They were so nice. The communication with the manager leading up to the trip was great. Our trip to Quito was a thousand times better because we stayed here.
We travelled as a multigenerational family of 10 and this property exceeded our expectations in every way. Andres was super helpful in making reservations, giving advice on sightseeing, and arranging for 3 airport pickups at various, inconvenient times. The house was perfect for our large group, and we enjoyed the large outdoor gathering area. The architecture, art and artifacts deserve their own guide book. The location in Old Town worked well for our different groups exploring at different times. Most remarkable was the staff. Delicious meals, snacks when we needed them, a surprise birthday celebration, and patience and kindness toward our 4 young kids. Thank you for a wonderful introduction to Ecuador!
An absolutely outstanding property with exceptional staff. Maria and Carmen were delightful and made us feel like royalty. Five stars does not do this property justice. It belongs in a superior category. We feel lucky to have had the opportunity to stay here and to have met Andres.
My family and I loved staying in this house. It is beautiful and expansive. The staff people were gracious and professional. The only problem was that the house was so lovely that it tempted us to stay in instead of exploring Quito!
The listing simply does not do this property justice. First the house : Our family stayed here for one week and we enjoyed every minute of this magical house. We travel a lot and have been fortunate to stay in some very unique houses and villas — this was over the top unique and cultured. The house was beautifully renovated but the owners managed to preserve the culture. It was outfitted with amazing furniture and linens; it had famous original art works, a writers tower, a wine cellar, an outdoor courtyard, a yoga room, and so much space! The views of the city were amazing too! The service: From the local host we received a warm welcome and even a history lesson about the house and some of Ecuador’s story. She introduced us to Carmen (the caretaker) and showed us all around. The host even sat and played board games with the kids! Every morning Carmen would make a delicious breakfast and set a beautiful table. She made mid-day mint tea and nighttime tea. The house was spotless (even though our three kids were running around). The location: at first we hesitated on staying in old Quito, but I am so glad we decided to. This house is walkable to museums, churches, plazas, shopping, dining, craft fairs and parks! So much to do in the area! If you have the opportunity to stay here — do it!! Don’t hesitate!
We were a family of 12. This beautiful home was PERFECT! Adults had their space as did the kids. For breakfast and dinner we sat down to home cooking which was delicious.
when we arrived, we were blown away that such a gorgeous home was available for a home stay. then we had a wonderful xmas meal prepared by Maria. everything was perfect and we enjoyed the property immensely. so much better than a hotel for our family.
