If you are considering renting this place, I would highly encourage you to run away!! Not only from this rental, but from the rental agency Vacasa that manages it. They are a joke! We had a list of issues with this house. The pictures depict a beautiful rental house on the beach. What we got was actually nothing like the pictures. Here are some of the issues we experienced... * mold on the air vents * Broken deck chairs * No hot water in the bathroom sinks * Shower doesn’t drain and hardly no water pressure * Sheets were ripped and the comforters were stained and had dry paint on them. One of the twin beds didn’t even have blankets for it!! * The hot tub had black foam in. We couldn’t use it. * The lights in the master bedrooms flickered constantly. We ended up losing power for a whole day towards the end of the stay. It was caused by a loose wire they said. Some of the light bulbs were blown and we were told they would be back the next day to change them. Of course no one came back. We spent a day dealing with it and packing up our stuff to move. Then to be told we are staying because they fixed it. We wasted a full day of vacation dealing with it. * The basketball hoops downstairs were rusted, and the frame wouldn’t even stand. Also good luck with any communication with them! They tell you to email, and call with your concerns and someone will get back to you. They NEVER do! We called daily, and they never return your call. Vrbo was no help either.
Beautiful spacious home
Thev house is nice and served our needs for vacation but has/had some issues. 1. A/C can't keep up with the heat. It was 77-78 degrees in the afternoon & evening. 2. We had a major ant issue 3. No light in one of the bedrooms 4. We only had 6 forks for 8 people 5. Mold on many of the air vents 6. Only one dish towel 7. No oven mitts 8. Back door is warped & needs to be fixed 9. Master bedroom door & bathrrom door needs fixed. Hard to open! We were in contact with Vasca, the property managers, every day except Sunday and we didn't not get results on issues until Thurs.
This house and location was perfect for our family trip. We had 9 adults and 6 little kids (all 5 and under). PROS: Easy walking distance from beach (approximately 80 yards), the house has an outdoor shower with privacy to shower after the beach or pool, across the street from 2 community pools, easy to wipe down dining chairs, high chair provided, 3 bath tubs, large living room for young kids to play on the rug, all bedrooms & living space on the same level, house was very clean, easy check out process, plenty of parking, gates on both sides closing in the downstairs area (great for kids to play outdoor games), 2 beach wagons provided CONS: kind of far from town (it didn’t matter to us but if you want to eat out a bunch), the view from the beach looks onto multiple natural gas rigs (but still beautiful beach!)
Being able to see the pool, the bay and the beach was absolutely perfect! Having the extra activities below the house made the home feel so much bigger. The only thing we were missing from home were fans, ceiling fans would really help keep the air circulating and feel cooler at night. We had some issues with the dishwasher starting and had to use the end of silverware to push the start button as the dishwasher buttons are hidden under the countertop and do not work when the dishwasher is open unless you use the 1hour delay button. The register vents were very dirty in the gray room and by the thermostat. Other than that.. we were very happy with the supplies provided for our stay, someone has thought of everything for your cooking and beach needs.
What I liked:The short walk to the beach. Enough space for a family of 10. The kitchen was well stocked. Enough beach chairs for adults and kids. What I didn't like: No dressers to put your clothes ( I hate living out of a suitcase), no ceiling fans, and that a lot of vents were closed and we had to go around and open them.
Excellent !
The house was perfect for our family. Plenty of room for privacy and gathering. Room to park our three vehicles in the carport. All enjoyed the hot tub. Everything we needed was there including what we needed to enjoy the beach. Clean and beautiful. Couldn’t ask for more within walking distance from the beach.
First. I have to say we truly enjoyed our stay at White Caps! Everything was fresh and clean and roomy and fun. This was not the White Caps I originally rented. When I saw the changes, I was feeling a little terrified. How do you take 4 kids to the beach in all this white? Well. We put blankets on the sofas and enjoyed. Those basket chairs were a real hit too! Plenty of seating space and I was told (several times) that if you end up in bed you will sleep like a rock they are that comfy-cozy...until Mr. Sun comes up and you start the fun all over again! There are so many things right with this whole vacation, and you know things are a homerun when the kids all say, Can we do this again next year?! Plenty of dishes and pots and pans and utensils in the kitchen and a big huge table. Great fridge with water and ICE IN THE DOOR!!!!! Fridge under the house for all those beach hydrating drinks and a watermelon! We might have unloaded enough sand to supply silicon valley in the downstairs shower. Plenty of towels and bathroom space! Comfy porches. We did get attacked by some kind of swarm one night but it was all over the place...even up at the food trailers. So many great things to do. A short drive to the Fort or to gas and shopping. A quick walk to the beach...we fell in love with beachy evenings. We saw fish and rays and shells and crabs and boats and gulls and pelicans!! We worked on our boogie board and snorkeling form. Dolphin cruises are a must, but if you don't, you will likely see them in the bay or at the ferry. And when the kids need a 'sun break' head to town for some Go Kart action or souvenir shopping. Or take naps. We took a couple naps. Great places to eat, enjoy ice cream, beaches, fishing (they were biting out at the beach in the evenings!).The neighborhood pools are great, and right across the street. I picked up some poolcare tips from the nice pool guy! The other thing we really liked was the family atmosphere in the neighborhood. Limited traffic. No loud parties. Friendly. Did I mention we like to swim? I could keep going. While we noted some minor issues, they weren't a big deal, and our Vacasa and White Caps experience was exceptional. Now grab that sunscreen and go have fun!
