Thick adobe walls and carefully preserved materials create a sense of calm, permanence, and intimacy that modern construction cannot replicate.

ARCHITECTURE, GROUNDS and OUTDOOR LIVING
Casa Cheruy is an elegant example of vernacular Spanish-Pueblo Revival architecture, a regional style popularized in the early twentieth century and defined by organic massing, thick adobe walls, and handcrafted details.

The home is nestled within a mature mesquite bosque, with expansive outdoor spaces designed for gathering and relaxation. The large backyard is bordered by an original farm fence and offers multiple areas for outdoor dining, barbecuing, and entertaining. Adobe ruins and historic remnants are scattered across the grounds, reinforcing the sense of place and continuity. A circular drive lined with desert creosote provides private off-street parking and a gracious arrival experience.

From the living spaces, guests enjoy unobstructed views of the Santa Catalina Mountains, particularly striking at sunrise and dusk.

We stayed here for 18 nights, most of the time with 2 couples. The extra cottage on the property allowed for some privacy. The home is in a beautiful setting, the interior very tastefully decorated, embracing the homes historical roots.. Our host was very responsive. We couldn’t have asked for anything more!

The pictures don't do this property justice! It looked like it was going to be a very nice house but it was more thoughtful and cozy than I expected. I felt like all the decor was thoughtfully purchased for th house. Minimal and tasteful. There were nice little touches like a basket or snacks, lotions, and robes that made the stay just a little nicer and easier. The house was very clean and everything felt comfortable.

We had a great stay at this charming, historic home. The desert landscape is home to rabbits, squirrels and hummingbirds, all framed by a huge living room window with a beautiful mountain view. The temps were perfect for gathering day and night on the spacious patio under bright umbrellas or twinkle lights. This adobe home is perfect for two and also easily accommodated our family party of six. We mostly used the nicely outfitted kitchen for light meal prep and carry-in. There’s not a dishwasher, but that was no problem for a two-week stay. This is a special home inside and out. Period paintings and art, comfortable furnishings and punched-tin lighting and accents make you feel immersed in Tucson history, yet enjoying all the comforts of an updated home. Sabino Canyon hiking is just 10 minutes away, Mt. Lemmon 20 minutes and downtown 20 minutes. Grocery stores, restaurants and shopping are all an easy and quick drive. The host responded quickly to questions and has excellent suggestions for activities and restaurants. We will hope to return to this home for our next Tucson visit.
